5-1 beat down and only 4 pages in the PGT?! Maybe people only post when they are angry...

Brodie I agree played the 2 on 1 terribly but only reason it was a 2 on 1 was because of Wideman. And Wideman got real lucky at least 3 times because the Wild forgot how to pass because there were a few times they were behind him in our zone and the neutral zone and he was oblivious to it.
Brodie IMO didn't have a stellar game, he couldn't make a pass or receive a pass and had a few turnovers as well. Him and Wideman just look so awkward together especially exiting the zone. Something needs to be done about that pairing.

When Brodie makes one mistake you are the first to jump on him.
Yes he did not play the 2 on 1 as it should have been played.
The coaches definitely don't share your opinion, 26 minutes of ice tonight.
How much ice time are they going to give him if he plays a good game in your eyes?

If the Flames can play like this for a good remainder of the season they make the playoffs. That was an awesome game to watch, Wild couldn't generate anything in the 3rd.

Went to bed before the 3rd period, but I am very happy with the final result.
I think I heard them say the flames were 18-0-1 after leading after 2 periods, that is nice.

Maybe a lot were at the game? I was in a box suite and had to stay with a group after the game. Not much to be angry about last night for sure as the Flames were flying. Dubnyk was very, very average and the Wild failed to capitalize on some Flames breakdowns that could have changed the tide in the game.

These late midweek games are tough, but it was a pretty fun game to watch. No passengers, other than Wideman. I don't usually pile on Wideman, but given how good the rest of the team looked, he was horrible.
Although not picking up any points, Dougie was really good.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Brouwer ain't putting up much points but he's been directly responsible for a handful of powerplay goals in the last month just by parking in front of the net and screening. Had another last night, it's text book too.

Wideman was bad, and demoted to the third pairing by the end of the game. I thought Brodie was fine.
Most of the team was excellent, really good game overall.

Agreed; glad it's Brouwer in front of the net on that PP unit and not Chiasson

I think this was Elliott's 2nd best game of the season. Great game Moose.

No one should be offering Wideman another NHL contract. Even giving him a PTO would likely turn out to be fruitless.
Wideman has nothing left to give at any NHL level. He's done.

I didn't notice Brodie struggling. Wideman's deficiencies wasn't as glaringly noticeable as normal, but it was still noticeable. He isn't just slow on his feet but his decision making and play execution is slow too. On one play the Wild dumped the puck in for a line change and Wideman was back in the corner to get it. It looked like his thought process was like: " Okay, I have the puck and my partner is in the opposite corner. Hmmm... Can I push it up along the boards on my side? Nope. Nobody there. I'll just pass it over to Brodie.. oh wait. Maybe I should look to see if he is ready. Yep. He is ready. Okay. I'll pass now. Here it goes. Oh geez! Somebody is on him! Crap, I just let the pass go! I hope he can clear it! Phew! He gets us out of so many predicaments."

Brodie made a bad play but I didn't notice him struggle either.
Solid goaltending is so important. 5 to 1 makes it sound not close but if Elliott doesn't make those saves in the first, it would have been very different.
Really something to build from. I thought the team looked good all around.

At one point Gaudreau and Tkachuk swapped lines in the 3rd period. Was it an intentional change or result of Gaudreau taking a longer shift at one point?
