Man that was pretty blatant. I don't see how he escapes without at least a fine. What are you going to do though as they spun the wheel of justice and it landed on "No Discipline"? Bottom line is they need to get rid of the randomness of the wheel.

Someone needs to beat the crap out of him. The league is letting him get away with it, teams/other players shouldn't.

That's not a slew foot. He kicked out his skates, he didn't push him back while doing so. Crappy trip, but he also clearly turns quickly to face the play.
It's a tripping penalty, that's about it.

A slew foot doesn't need you to push your opponent over your leg too. It can be solely your leg. TSN got it wrong.

Same play as on Kronwall that warranted a fine. But hey, he got away with it this time and they scored a goal off the play..
Sometimes your team scores, sometimes you get a measly fine... if the Refs and the league aren't going to do their job, he may as well keep doing it..

A slew foot is kicking out the skates from behind, causing the other player to fall backwards. Which is different than regular tripping. Pushing with your arms or elbows can make it worse, but that doesn't need to occur for it to be a slew foot.
That said, I didn't realize they were regularly fining or suspending slew foots. Are they?

I don't see how that's any worse than an everyday trip.
Pulling back while doing the tripping is what makes slew foots dangerous. Especially in a race to the boards.

Exactly. And while maybe one doesn't technically meet the criteria of being a slew foot (as was the case with Marchand's move last night), he's already cost one player a couple months on IR and has quickly gotten a reputation for repeatedly making this kind of move, going back to junior.
If the league won't deal with Marchand and Tkachuk, some player will. Their reputations are out there.
