As of Saturday morning, I got to listen to coworkers and clients talking about what a great job Trump has done so far, how much he's gotten done in just a week.

These people honestly think he's doing good work. They're convinced anything against him is all fake news. You just literally cannot reason with them, they won't hear any of it.

It's incredibly upsetting to be living here among all of this.

A lot of Canadians I know who figured he might be okay are now questioning him, but a lot of Americans that I figured would break ranks with the Trump lovers after the immigration issue have doubled down. Scary.

Well this is downright shocking.

U.S. President Donald Trump says he won't roll back workplace protections for LGBTQ individuals.

In a rare display of agreement with the previous administration, one of Trump's first actions on Tuesday was to pledge to continue an executive order signed by his predecessor, Barack Obama, that ensures employees who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer are entitled to the same protections as any other workers.

"The executive order signed in 2014, which protects employees from anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors, will remain intact," said a White House statement.

Assali and her husband, Dr. Ghassan Assali, who has a dentistry practice and received his degree from New York University, are originally from Syria but have been living in the United States for 20 years. Sarmad Assali's two brothers, their wives and their two children initiated their immigration attempts in 2003 while living in Syria. In December 2016, they were approved to join Assali and her husband in Allentown after the couple bought and furnished a home for them.

But early Saturday morning, after they landed at Philadelphia International Airport, Assali's relatives were detained. They were then sent on an 18-hour flight back overseas.

The detainment and deportation occurred only hours after President Trump signed an executive order that immediately restricted travel from seven predominantly Muslim countries and temporarily halted a refugee program for Syrian immigrants.

"Two security guards were waiting for them," Assali said. "They took them. They said, 'Are you Syrians?' They said, 'Yes.' They said, 'Come with us.'"

Well, as I said yesterday, he will have to start pushing back himself in order to avoid looking like a fool. I honestly feel that he didn't know what he was signing on the weekend, and now might actually take the time to read the executive orders instead of letting his ego get in the way.
