Taylor Hall knows a thing or two about winning, if there's ever any doubt...

Yeah I think Johnny wins MVP of the pacific wins it. Last year it was going to be John Scott no matter what.
Call me crazy but I love the 3on3 tournament. The game is going to be low intensity anyways, might as well make it somewhat fun to watch.
Oh, and anyone who is even remotely emotionally invested in this is needs to re-evaluate their priorities. It's the one day a year I can watch McDavid and not loathe him with every fibre of my being!

To be fair, Kunny01 actually signed up last week just to gloat in the Vancouver is No Good thread about how "bright' the Canucks future is. I remember because I said it should be fun for the dozen or so posts it lasts.
He got pretty quiet when they went 28 mins without a shot the other night, but he did a good job showing back up today to spout more nonsense. A well played Canuck troll cameo.

The only thing I like about the game is it's a continuation from the Ottawa game for Johnny to get his confidence level up vs good NHLers.
Going to the game on wednesday and bringing my gf along for the first time, and I don't want her to have to endure the recent losing streak Flames.
Hopefully some "fun" rather than frustration gets him back to getting people out of their seats.

Love the new format but there needs to be more than three games. Scrap the skills comp and have it over two days with shorter games if necessary. Do one of two things:
-Round robin with all four teams, then a final of the top 2.
-Make it international with the same teams as the world cup (Europe and NA included). Two groups with a round robin and top teams in each group meet in the final.

I found it funny how Hughson and Simpson kept raving about the number of #1 overall picks in the game.
Well yeah, I would expect so...
The actually interesting stat would be the number of late picks that made it to the All-Star Game. Or undrafted players like Gio last year.
#1 Overall: Ovechkin, Crosby, Kane, Tavares, Hall, MacKinnon, McDavid
1st round: Malkin (2), Doughty (2), Hedman (2), Seguin (2), Laine (2), Toews (3), Seth Jones (4), Price (5), Suter (7), Okposo (7), Horvat (9), Carter (11), McDonagh (12), Fowler (12), Dubnyk (14), Karlsson (15), Tarasenko (16), Burns (20), Rask (21), Kesler (23)
2nd round: Faulk (37), Subban (43), Weber (49), Crawford (52), Keith (54), Kucherov (58), Simmonds (61)
3rd round: Trocheck (64), Marchand (71), Nielsen (87)
4th round: Holtby (93), Gaudreau (104)
5th round: Smith (161)
6th round: Atkinson (157)
7th round: Pavelski (205)
Undrafted: Bobrovsky, Martin Jones

So basically, in terms of high end players:
-3rd to 7th/undrafted rounds provide small players and goalies
-2nd round mostly provides defensemen
-1st round provides everything else (mostly forwards)

That would be fun at least every second year. They would definitely need Canada 1 and Canada 2. Or better yet Teams Ontario, Quebec, and Canada

Johnny's two snipes:
Hopefully he's riding high off such a good showing with the worlds best players and goes on a tear starting Wednesday.

Defenseman Chris Pronger fined after hitting Justin Bieber!
Quote:
This might be the first All Star game fine
Internet just got "lit" when people saw Chris Pronger's hit on Justin Bieber by the board during the NHL All Star game. Pronger, hall of famer, is also working for the NHL's Department of Player Safety. Even though he said earlier (as a joke) that he won't apologies for his hit from behind on Justin Bieber, Pronger came back with another funny quote to close this story.
As per Sportsnet, "Chris Pronger fines himself $5 for All-Star hit on Justin Bieber."
He also commented his hit as being "Just good fun" and "A little massage to his back, a little face wash. I tried to hit the full spectrum."
This guy is way too funny!
