[QUOTE=flylock shox;6103044]I would imagine the ambiguity in the wording of the executive order banning people from target countries is to allow the White House to back away from some of the harshest consequences, arguing they are unintended.

I think you are giving too much credit.

Of course he has and in major ways. The USA relies on some of the banned countries to maintain their war on terror. Most of the interpreters for the USA military do the job in return for immigrating to the USA. The hatred of the general population has to be quickly increasing. It likely makes terror organizations' messages far easier to believe.

Lol Trump is already wearing out his welcome. He went from +18 net approval in Rasmussen on Thursday, to +10 today. And remember Rasmussen has a massive GOP slant. So to shed half his net approval in a few days from an extremely friendly pollster is very alarming (for him anyway). And lest we forget, the true impact of some his idiocy won't be felt for a few more months. He's gonna be extremely unpopular very fast, and that's when the GOP will pounce and oust him, and get to claim to be the "heroes" for getting rid of him.

I hope that is how things play out...the GOP has underestimated this guy and have gotten themselves into this mess. I would not be surprised if Trump is working hard to discover some way to insulate himself from just such a 'coup'.

I hope that the republicans who kowtowed to him throughout this are shown the exit as well.

The GOP hasn't gotten themselves into this mess, they ARE this mess.

Trump or not a lot of this stuff that people are outraged about was happening on Day 1 of a GOP presidency.

Yes, we are... but so was Nazi Germany in 1933.

The similarities are close enough that this needs to be nipped in the bud now, before it gets the chance to change the world in ways we don't want. Politicians and world leaders seem to be lined up to kneel at Trump's altar - especially those in the GOP - so it's going to fall to the people to make it clear that we don't like, condone, or support what's being done.

We in the recent history Interned Japanese citizens and non citizens using the excuse of war as legal cover. We didn't become a facist state and burn them all. People. We'd to back down the panic meter here.

I still think we have a buffoon who got elected not a facist with sites on global domination and concentrating power.

And that was terrible too. Don't know what the point you're trying to make is. Wait until its too late?

People that think these types of ugly marks on history aren't possible anymore are incredibly naive. Any inkling of any policy moving in that direction should be harshly and aggressively opposed.

My point is that a comparison to Hitler at this point is ridculous. Plenty of other liberal democracies have dipped their toes into for a lack of a better word "deplorable" behaviour withoit becoming expansionistic and murdering people based on ethnicity.

So quit with the Goodwining. He's not the 2nd coming of hitler.

The real issue is he's a thin skinned idiot who doesn't consider his actions consequences and can't see further ahead then one move on the chess board.

Not all fascists arrive in the form of Hitler.

If nothing else, Trump is going to set a record for the number of rallies against him. Ideally each one with a crowd bigger than his inauguration.

I am expecting an executive order soon to ban protesting.
