Toews making it is such a joke. Honestly a travesty, he's never been a top 5 player in the NHL. Isn't a top 20 player in the entire NHL right now and. supposedly in his prime...
It's a complete disgrace. I've said it before and will say it again, Toews is the most overrated player in the entire NHL. And judging by the reactions on other message boards the vast majority agree. Maybe even in history. What a joke.

Snubbing Iggy is as big an offense as snubbing Ovechkin would have been. Many similarities in their careers.

Fitting how I get to comment on page 12 of this thread.
What an embarrassment for whoever came up with this list. How you leave Iggy off is just down right atrocious. Get ####ed!!

And the biggest Toews hater on earth comes out to play. Are you basing this all on his point totals?

Im not surprised they messed this up, The NHL is such a joke they have pretty much lost me as a die hard hockey fan. How can you have any faith in a league that can't even get something as easy as their top 100 players even remotely close. Never mind all the other s### they put their fans through

I'm not even mad. The NHL always screws up even the most simplest tasks. It's like their thing

The funny thing is that this is the 2nd All-star weekend in a row they messed up. Just a terribly managed league.

On everything. He's over rated and if you think I'm his biggest hater you should visit other message boards. The decision to put him in the top 100 is being laughed about every where. It's a joke and he doesn't deserve to be even close to a top 100 list. He's not even a top 20 player in the league this year let alone a top 100 player of all time.

I wonder how much players on that list is a two time Memorial Cup winner and two time men's gold? Plus the WJC, World Championship, and World Cup. Iginla might not win a cup, but he has a history of winning.
I'd argue winning a memorial is just as hard. But the league only cares about their brand

It actually makes no sense at all not to have Iginla there. Zero. The 3 current Blackhawks out there was a bit much for me too but there were actually quite a few head scratchers.

They have Toews and Kane as better all-time than Thornton and Iginla??? ...if so, that's all kinds of brutal.

Duncan Keith????? Ridiculous. Iggy, Thornton and Malkin>Toews, Kane, Keith. I really do not think players who are 27/28 years old should be on the list unless they are generational like Crosby or Mcdavid. If either of Kane, Toews or Keith retired today they would not be on that list.

What is offensive is that the NHL obviously manipulated the list for marketing purposes. All time greats in the twilight of their careers? Not marketable. Current great players years away from having the career impact of anyone else on the list, but with 3 cups? Put them on the list!
It's like the NHL was trying too hard to show that current all stars are among the 100 greatest of all time.
Toews doesn't even have 600 career points! If such a list is made in 6-10 years, Toews and Kane will likely deserve to be on the list. I'm not sure Keith will ever be truly deserving, as good as he is.
Crosby is deserving for sure. Ovechkin is deserving, but I can't see much reason for him to be more deserving than Iginla at this point is his career.
Jagr should have been announced with the 90s group, but He's still playing in 2017, and fairly effectively. Incredible.
Malkin deserves to be there, though finishing his career will certainly solidify that. The only "strike" he has against him, is low overal career numbers. That will come. It's pretty tough to argue for Toews or Kane simply because they have 3 cups when Malkin has 2, and has better overall career numbers.

Complete bunk list for leaving Iginla off.
Top 20 ALL-TIME in goals.
Top 40 ALL-TIME points.
Points aren't everything, but they are pretty important.
Awful.

Ovechkin certainly is a better pure goal scorer, and that's saying something, since I think Iginla is top 10 of all time in that category. In other areas, Iggy is arguably better. Overall, I don't see how Ovechkin is a "much, much better player"
Iggy carried his team closer to a Stanley Cup than Ovi has.

I take Iginla and Thornton before Modano, Lafontaine, Robitaille, Gartner... and many others... Statsny???... c'mon!!! BRUTAL LIST!!
Arguments can be made for many players, for sure... but I don't see how anyone can possibly argue Lafontaine and/or Stastny over Thornton and Iginla... does not compute

Duncan Keith is the most inexplicable to me. Toews and Kane might belong eventually, but neither has really distinguished themselves for more than a single season.
Cups always overvalued on this list. Iggy's presence and contributions to gold in '02 and '10 should be worth as much. Niedermayer, Pronger and Brodeur are the only other guys to be on both teams.

Keith is easily the most deserving of the Chicago 3. 2 Norris trophies and a Conn Smythe. Not many defensemen can match that.
Toews, as everyone says, is literally nowhere close to this list.
Kane has an argument, PPG career in the modern era is no joke, plus a Smythe and a Hart.
Iggy, Thornton, and Malkin are all definitely/completely/obviously above Toews, and right in there with Kane and Keith imo. I think Karlsson is right up there with them as well, and that he will be ahead of all those guys once he hangs them up, especially if he can ever get himself out of Ottawa and on to a team that will do what it takes to win a cup.

No Iginla is brutal. Like, it's a complete no brainer. There's an argument to be made for top 50, heck even top 30 all time player with him, let alone top 100. Unbelievable he's left off.
