He should.

*97 game winning goals (6th all time, ahead of Gretzky, Messier, and LaFleur)

*16th most prolific goal scorer in the league (this while playing a knuckle hard brand of hockey), more than 615 goals, one of seven players in NHL history to score 30 goals in 11 consecutive seasons.

*More than 1,500 games, more than 1,280 points, more than 1,000 PIMs

*Seventeen seasons in which he put up between 20 and 52 goals.

I guess we'll find out at 7:30 p.m. today:

I doubt Luongo - he was good but he never dominated. But Iggy should be in - he was the best player in the game for a brief time.

Yes of course he does. Are they just releasing a list of 100 players or doing a countdown? If the latter Iginla should be top 50.

Isn't there a rumour Toews will be on the list and that's why he was named to the ASG? I wouldn't agree with that one and if so why isn't Iggy an All Star too?

I don't know if he will be. He probably deserves to be but if I see McDavid or Matthews on there I'm going to #### a brick and stop watching the NHL.

That's just silly. I get the Toews arguments (though not buying them 100%). Seabrook, however, has never even been the best defenceman on his own team.

This isn't like some idiotic magazine (I'm looking at you rolling stone) who would intentionally want to publish a list that is full of pathetic entries for the sake of generating debate and page views.

This is the NHL actively insulting some of the greatest players ever to play in its own league.


EDIT: it is 6 active players, not modern era players.
