2) When JG spent minutes with his head down cussing and obviously frustrated I did not see any talk from GG towards JG. A big difference between an amateur coach and elite is knowing when to press a players buttons and back off. I see a complete black and white X and O style from GG that is not tailored to spark individuals.
3) The call out in the media with 0 lack of accountability for himself. News flash... it wasn't one bad game. They have put a number of them together and can't score. This is just as much on the coach as it is the players.

Great points. I agree with all of this. His "Calling out the players in the media" last night rang hollow. The day before he says "I don't speak to my players after the game" to "My players are pathetic and it's all their fault, not mine". Learn some accountability Glue Gun.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but The Score app has an article with Torts talking about Capuano and he mentions that a team has already reached out to the Islanders to get permission to talk to Capuano. Not following the East that closely I'm not sure if his coaching record from last season was an anomaly, if he coaches a good system or if this is just another case of the Isles being a terribly run franchise. Anyone with a better idea of the situation think he may be someone the Flames could be looking at?

Seriously this again? He has family in the Minnesota area and that likely played a part.
Boudreau is entitled to his own free will and chose to go there. I'm as disappointed as anyone else he didn't chose to come here. But let's not pretend like BB didn't have a choice in the matter.

After listening to GG's postgame comments and reading Darren Hayne's article, I'm convinced a new coach is needed ASAP. He's lost the room, and doesn't know how to even start looking for it.

We had a brief run where it looked like things were changing with the comeback kids, but slipped in the following season.
I don't know that Gulutzan has the answers, but I'm willing to give him a chance to fix it (and would hope this was a topic of discussion in his hiring interview).

Did anyone hear 960 just before 1:00? They said an ex-GM that has a radio show said Gulutzan is a terrible coach and was a bad hire. Anyone know who that is?

Reading between the lines from that article, it seems like Chiasson is finally in the Glue Gun's doghouse. That "4th line" comment was mostly due to him not changing off and staying on with Bouma and Stajan for a whopping 1:40 shift.

There was more than one quote. This one was particular really seemed telling.
We extend ourselves on a minute shift. We've got our fourth line out there. They decide to take one more crack at it because they've scored so many goals
This is a garbage thing to say in the media about your team. You're the ****ing coach, so either they were out there cause you wanted them to be, or they weren't listening to your direction. Either way it's not working.

Craig Button is the only guy who makes sense.
Edit: did a quick search and Button was praising the hire in June so maybe not him unless he's had a change of heart.

Craig Button said he wasn't impressed with Gulutzan's press conference on today's Leaf's Lunch. 28-29 min in: http://www.tsn.ca/radio/toronto-1050...an-25-1.657898

Very easy to judge the tip of the ice berg. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors. Calling out the players in the media last night could be bush league, but that all depends on what he's said to the players behind closed doors leading to this. If he's been playing patty cakes with them then he goes right to that, problem, if he's done other things, then finally the media lever, not such a problem.
As for trying to analyse how he's treating JG while he's frustrated, that's a huge leap to suggest he's handling it wrong cause he didn't go over to him. Again, he might no better what Johnny wants or needs, and also who knows what else is going on behind close doors. Maybe he doesn't feel like he wants to go speak to Johnny if he's annoyed with him about something else, like off ice preparation or something.
Also, ripping the officials never works. Might make us fans feel better, but it serves no purpose. Especially if the Flames are already getting a raw deal from them because of Wideman gate.
