how are the fans supposed to care if the players don't?
The game was on my tv, but I wasn't watching. It's been like that for awhile now. I actually don't think I care. I come on CP mainly for offtopic now, but flipped over here to see if anyone talked about Warreners awesome little rant today.
Anyway whatever, nobody wants to watch uninspired, listless BS. Nobody wants to pay $100's (or, anything) to watch a bunch of floating. The Flames should be paying the fans these days. They're the ones that actually seem to care about the situation.

I honestly dont give a damn about the outcome of one game when its an 82 game schedule because its supposed to be just one game.
but its been the same damn story for whole damn year, THIS TEAM IS BITCH MADE. they didnt do a damn thing when johnny got slashed and it has snowballed and now they dont do a damn thing about anything.
Edmonton bitch slaps them around their own barn and they dont go out there and jump an oiler or run the goalie? come on.
Tonight was no different.
This team has no effing heart. no effing pride. and im getting really sick of watching them allow the opposition to beat down on them and there is no retaliation. its embarrassing.

Lol we were told the entire league would hate Tkachuk in his prime, didn't think it would be so early. HF is very entertaining right now, you would think Tkachuk was Bertuzzi incarnate. It's funny how everything is blown up in Toronto land.

According to Sportsclubstats, Flames playoff chances are down to 32.3%. They had been hovering around 50% for a couple of months so there has been an appreciable drop in the past week.
For the remainder of the season, if they go:
17-12-3 they will probably make the playoffs (>50% probability)
19-10-3 they will definitely make the playoffs (>95% probability)

Nah some players do(Tkachuk, Backlund) Johnny has been struggling but I don't question his will more just that he's in the worse slump of his career. But yes for the most part this team has been weak and it comes straight from the coach and captain. Questioning Gio as the captain of this team right now.

Only thing I want this season is for Johnny to get going now. I hate watching him struggle while knowing how much potential he has when used correctly. His lack of prodcution is squarely on Gully. Hartley never had a problem getting Gaudreau scoring. I agree with what an above poster said, this team doesn't have a plan B, C, or D. They have a plan A and when that plan is not going right they do have nothing else. Power play is the perfect example, looked god like 2 weeks ago, once figured out it now looks like it had before. Flames look unprepared for games, and I rarely thought that with Hartley.

Trading one of them just to see them have amazing success under a competent coach somewhere else would be unbearable.

I'd have given one of my kidneys to see this team under Boudreau this season. The dude isn't afraid to drop a ton of F-bombs and hold up a mirror to his players. And they seem to enjoy playing for the guy as well.
Caps, Ducks and Wild, all very consistent teams under BB. The Wild.

Interesting watching that slew foot by Tkachuk. Didn't think that one was all that bad but because it's not the first one he has done this year I imagine he may get fined/suspension. It really is one of the worst plays in hockey though.

Once again, our 19 year old rookie is the only one with some passion. Hathaway is out of the line-up and we have zero physical presence.
Also hard to see what point Gulutzant is trying to make by forcing Chiasson, Wideman and Bouma into the line-up night in and night out. Chiasson and Wideman aren't getting any better, so there isn't even a development angle to them playing. You'd think simple job preservation would make him sit those guys.
Also very hard to watch a team with confidence issues. When things go well, they look great. When things go poorly, they're fragile. I place that blame squarely on the shoulders of the captain and the veteran presence.

I swear the league only watches Leafs games. Tkachuk has done so much worse this year than that little slew foot.
He literally drove his helmet into another players face with a head butt and the league didn't even notice.
So many dirty plays this year have went under the leagues noses. I seriously doubt they have the man power or smarts to discipline players after Shanahan left.
If Tkachuk gets suspended for that little slewfoot that has been done so many times this year then the league discipline department is a joke. Guess you have to appease the goof ball Leaf fans.
I seriously didn't even mind the Leafs up until BigTuna came into the GT with a 4-0 lead and started gloating. I've noticed their fans have zero class and are the biggest band wagon fans in all of sports. Will cheer against them like I cheered against the Canucks.

Ya I much rather be a fan of a team that plays in a smaller market. So many leafs fans in the world, cool you cheer for the most popular team in the world, who is cradled by the league and handed the first overall after one bad year. You really think the league was gonna let Toronto not get the first pick after they decided to rebuild for the first time in forever. Ya right .It's all good, I wouldn't want to be a fan of that team or that ####hole of a comsmoplotan want to be New York anyways. Toxic city with toxic people who believe they are better than the rest of Canada. Say what you want about Vancouver and their fans but I've lived in BC/Vancouver area for the past 4 years and people here are extremely kind, have family in Toronto and visit all the time and the people are just awful.

Haha this is funny.
Tkachuk by the sounds of it is a big cheapshot artist. Plus it probably has to do with the fact that the game was over and he has a history of being a slimeball, so maybe they are going to discipline a little (doubt it).
Oh and yes biggest band wagon fans in all sports. Without all of those cups they've won recently and playoff success I'm sure they wouldn't have the fan support they have. The Leafs have been bad for so long but the fans stick with them.

1) Leafs have been bad for a lot longer than one year.
2)Ok.
3)That's not a nice thing to say about your family.

I have to disagree with those of you that didn't like the response from our team after the Gaudreau hit. Our captain dropped his gloves and fought almost immediately after, Chiasson gave him a forearm to the head, and maybe you guys were too busy noticing Gulutzan act like a mature adult but Stajan was fuming and looked to be ripping into the ref pretty good. I don't know what more you guys expected? For our team to turn into a bunch of classless donkeys? You don't have to throw temper tantrums to express disapproval. I'm sure it was made pretty clear to the refs and Komorov that the Flames weren't taking that crap.

That's great, aren't there a million Leafs boards out there? Never understood why other fans feel the need to go to a designated forum for a team and their fans and post. There are places for that. Ya every team has die hard fans congrats, you want a cookie or what? Toronto fans are just incredible, is that what you wanted?

People are pretty sensitive right now about Johhny and the whole slashing situation. I would've liked to seen more, I think Komarov should've faced some actual fists for that. I would've liked the Flames to send a much bigger message to a guy who has targeted players in the past. He knew who he was goin after and he knew where his shoulder was in relation to Johnnys head and followed threw completely.

And all of this accomplished what? If your answer was nothing you are right then.
" attempted" fight and no push back later on.
I am sure Komorov learned his his lesson. 10 % sure in fact.

Guys that nees to go from the losing regimes.
- Gio
-Bouma
-Stajan
- Wideman
- Brodie
Time to make Way for new talent whether it is home grown or from trades. To much sutter stank outside widwman. That was just a free agency flub.
Also I acknowledge Backlund is from the sutter era but at least he is showing he can provie some contributions.
