this is exactly it...they are a bubble team, if they were consistently good they would be much higher in the standings
Whoever winds up in the wild card spots will be playoff teams after incredibly inconsistent seasons

So the upside is we get embarassed in the first round?
Gaudreau, Monahan, Brodie, and Bennett were supposed to be our best players. They have all been terrible.
We aren't going to overpay for a #4 defense when we are a bubble team and a expansion draft coming. Same goes for a #1 RW.
Ugh, we were supposed to take a step forward this year. Backlund, Tkachuk, and Dougie are the only ones who got the memo.

I think Jay Feaster gets way too much #### still. I think he did a better job of putting together a roster than Tre by a wide margin.
