I don't agree with not giving Elliott the start after how well he played last Saturday and both goals on Johnson being soft against Florida but maybe he wants to give him another crack against the Oilers.
We'll see if the Flames can score goals. If they're dependent on Backlund trying to go for 40goals this year, then they will lose hockey games. They need Monahan and Gaudreau to show up
I really like this line. I've been secretly hoping for Johnny to get bumped and play along Stajan for a while now. two thumbs up to GG.

But I'll say Stajan gets a hattrick tonight. No points for Chiasson.
Yeah, Not ideal. All things considered though it makes sense. No one on the 4th line would make this line better, and the top two lines are working well and don't need to be rearranged. Besides, Gaudreau is probably going to be double shifted plenty.
That didn't stop him from going back to Johnson a couple weeks ago after Elliott won and Johnson lost his previous four to "keep both active". Also I don't consider "losing" in the gimmick losing.

Practice seems to be a big influence. GG went with Elliott against the Oil after seeing him have the best practice he's ever seen (he said he didn't think a single puck went in).
Coaches often go with history as well. I don't know each goalie's history against the Preds.
Anyway, Johnson was good outside of those two saveable shots. He pretty much shut the door. A goalie's reaction after a rough start shows a lot to me.
