does this mean Chaisson will be replaced by Ferland on the Gaudreau line?

I think I'd rather keep Versteeg - Monahan - Brouwer together and have Gaudreau and Chaisson with Stajan

I'd try switching those two, yeah.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Brouwer
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Versteeg-Stajan-Chiasson
Bouma-Hamilton-Ferland

I don't disagree. I was guessing what's gonna happen, not what I'd like. One of these days, even though it's not to Tkachuk's benefit, I'd like to see Gaudreau with Backlund and Frolik.

I hope Gaudreau and Monahan aren't on the same line. Monahan has played his best this year when he isn't on Gaudreau's line. Need more than 2 or 3 games of good play for both fellers before rejoining them. Maybe 12-15 games of solid play and then put them back together.

The only way this is negative is if Bennett treats it that way.

I don't think he has the ego to make it that way, so I am confident he will benefit from it.

Unfortunate but it's needed. He needs a reset. Been tough to watch him struggle the past 10 games but hopefully he comes back and plays with the fire we know he has.

I believe Gaudreau was scratched against the Predators at age 21...

Yes! Stajan moves up to center the third line. Finally. It makes me happy when GG listens. The team will be better off with Sam taking time to learn and reflect, then hopefully coming back in a winger role.

Unfortunate, but as an armchair GM I think this is a necessary evil. Bennett's not playing that well, seems to be flopping all over the ice, taking dumb penalties and hasn't shown that edge/drive that made him such a highly touted pick. Not the end of the world, as many of us overlook that's he's still only 20.

Have him sit with the coaches upstairs and get a birds eye view of the action. Once upon a time, Gaudreau sat and we all know the rest of the story.

Hopefully this is chalked up to a big learning experience.

When can we scratch Chiasson tho? Feel bad for Johnny having to play on that line, could be a frustrating night for him. Or maybe an offensive explosion of the Stajan? Who knows.

Just wish they'd swap ferdaddy and chiasson. Stajan may prove a boost though. Good at driving possession and gaining the offensive zone.

Gaudreau-Backlund-Tkachuk
Ferland-Monahan-Mangiapane

Just a reminder. These lines will almost certainly be juggled tonight.

I would've liked to see Gaudreau switched with Frolik tonight if possible but that's just a lot of moving prices. You can't really break up the 3M line with the way they are producing

So why not scratch Monohan. He has been awful all season.

Because he produces. And has been markedly improved lately.
