Yeah, and I don't have any problem with this. The entire point of the back and forth was that you don't have to subscribe to identity politics to defend these rights and support the women who are being affected - and in fact there's absolutely no rational reason to do so. It doesn't make sense.

Yeah. It is. If you don't think carefully about why you believe what you believe, why you support the things you support, then your politics are going to be a mess of moral confusion.

Toby Keith fits like a glove in that lineup. He'll probably come up with some garbage pro Trump anthem to delight the mouth breathers.

If Nenshi wants to become premier it appears to be his for the taking. Just slide into the Alberta party and pick up the disgruntled NDP and PCs.

Here is a story about one of the Rockettes speaking about performing for Trump. I found it interesting.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/18/a...rump.html?_r=0
I knew that they performed at past inaugurations, but it does seem sad that the "owner" who is a personal friend of Trump is making them play for "Mr. Grab-them-by-the #####".

so she opened her mouth before getting all the information, like the fact it wasn't mandatory to perform for trump.
nobody is making them do anything. and from what the article says, that same "owner" made their lives as a rockette so much better.
if she didn't quit she probably would have been fired. know what I can't do in my job? spout off to the media. even social media. if she had an issue, she should have dealt with it differently.

I didn't realize TMZ is going to be running propaganda for Trump, so I guess we'll have to get used to that. But here's a pretty obvious example of them propping up the orange goblin (and you'd really have to be dumb as #### to believe this).
Quote:
Donald Trump shut down negotiations to get a huge rock band at one of his Inaugural balls ... in order to cut costs and potentially save tens of millions for charity.
Inauguration sources tell us the Committee was close to landing a legendary group -- one that's in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame -- but when the President-elect found out they wanted more than $1 million for the gig he pulled the plug. We're told Trump implored the rockers to reduce their appearance fee -- but when they refused he told the Inaugural Committee to move on to other artists.

Bugs me too when women talk out of turn.
Being mandatory or not is beside the point when internal company politics are at play.

@seanspicer on no Latinos in Trump cabinet: "the number one thing America should focus on is is he hiring the best and the brightest."
Adrian Carrasquillo @Carrasquillo
Spicer asked about lack of Latino in cabinet by @kwelkernbc cites Elaine Chao and literally points to Ben Carson in the room.

That is kind of my point. If you allow yourself to use unrealistic hypotheticals in a moral discussion, you are being way too easy on yourself. Looking at the actual consequences of your views is one of the best ways to find where your personal views are in conflict.
If you can't find a real world example to defend your view, there is very probably something wrong with your view.
Actual morality can always be defended with actual examples or at the very least plausible hypotheticals.
(Of course one might not always be able to come up with a real world example on the spot. But really the only reason to offer poor quality arguments is when you're trying to explain yourself in a situation where you've been asked to do so.
Throwing poor arguments into discussions where nobody asked them is selfish behavior and simply lowers the quality of discussion.)

The only problem with this line of reasoning is it won't allow anyone to be a libertarian. Their schtick really only works with hypotheticals and ignoring real world consequence.

This is Trump's mouthpiece. Is he going to try to sell the Trump brand at the podium for the next 4 years?

How can you leave out the best part? The media is currently banned from going to the hotel. So of course they haven't been.
