Watching Lucic tonight, that contract is really going to hurt them, he's absolutely terrible with a one dimensional game and fading speed that's not really NHL speed anymore.

Enjoy that contract, your stuck with him.

I had music on instead of the TV sound.

How was Campbell on the colour commentary?

That call on Hamilton with 5 minutes left was ridiculous. Draisaitl went for the hit and Dougie just defended himself after sending the puck up. How's that even roughing?!?

On top of that the Flames were going up ice on a 3 on 2 almost 3 on 1.

This officiating garbage needs to be cleaned up. Flames get mauled all over the ice and get nothing while other teams gets handed PP's time after time.

So infuriating.

She's awful.

She needs to go back to hosting stuff. As a color commentator she's just well, awful.

I really hope these 2 teams meet in the first round of the playoffs. I don't think either has a shot at the stanley cup, but i would love to see a 7 game series with these 2. It would bring the " battle of Alberta" back from the dead.

nonsense...some of the best ever shootout attempts were made by guys coming in slow

it doesn't go in it looks bad. Their guys just shot the puck and happened to hit their spots

Unsuccessful shootout attempts regularly look bad. Judging a players intensity on what they do in a shootout is about as poor a way to make that assessment that I can possibly think of

Yep, and it's happening every game. We see egregious calls missed against us, and then get a phantom / questionable call on us late in close games.

It's like they're not even trying to hide the fact they're screwing us.

How can you be that mad? Flames arguably deserved to win this and played probably 50-55 very solid minutes overall. Textbook road game for the most part.

What makes me happy most of all is the Oilers in mid season form don't look like anything special at all. Pretty much another team on the fringe that is getting a few more bounces than the Flames this year.

The unfortunate thing is that a lot of teams are putting up pretty weaksauce efforts against them on most nights, at least that I've seen snippets of. If the Flames can shut them down like this on the second of 2 in 2 then I don't know why other teams can't do more of the same.

Wideman is gone next season. I don't really care if people dismiss bias in reffing, this is way too ridiculous at this point to be anything but purposeful.

I was only able to watch the 3rd period and on. Some thoughts on the game;

1) I am a big time Wideman hater, but that was the best defensive game I've seen him play in a long long time. Kudos to him.

2) Elliot was fantastic despite the predictable shootout loss.

3) The officiating is getting infuriating to watch. Put your whistles away for the entire 3rd period and then negate a Flames odd man rush to call a love tap on Draisaitl after he goes down like he got shot, late in the 3rd. Gaudreau gets mauled behind the oilers net a couple of times and Brodie has Eberle draped all over him in OT, no call. Just seems like we are on the wrong end way more than not.

4) The oilers have a horse shoe up their arse, 2 bars in the 3rd and OT, then a fluke blind swipe to prevent a Giordano breakaway.

I guess this is just a prime example about how being a fan of the Oilers causes brain damage, or the failure of the Edmonton school system.

At least I hope you're an Oilers fan, because no self respecting Flames fan would post anything like this.

Terrible. Loved her in the intermission when she had that role.

She dosnt really have a personality and the bits she does comment on have no real insight to the game.

Seems CBC just put her on as almost a "affirmative action " style role.

Some thoughts:

I ain't even mad (well, maybe a little). Flames played a terrific game, and were night and day from the NJ game. I thought they were the better team overall tonight and had more quality scoring chances. This would likely have been a blowout for the Flames if not for Talbot and the goal posts.

Excellent defensive effort tonight. They gave the Oilers very little all game, and McDavid only looked dangerous in the OT with all that ice to work with.

Fantastic game by Elliott. I think he deserves the next start.

Johnny is really fighting the puck right now. Whatever is going on with him, I hope he gets out of it soon.

Can't believe how goddamn lucky the Oilers are. All of the bounces went their way tonight, the officials were in their pocket, and they continue to survive because of loser points and OT. Without Talbot and McDoofy, they're a below-average team at best. Sadly they've had our number this year, and it's frustrating as hell. But I have a good feeling the Flames will finally get that monkey off their back next week.

Up until that Hamilton call, i had no problem with the refs letting both teams go at it. Then a very questionable call, considering what had taken place throughout the period , left a sour taste in my mouth.
