Full marks to the Flames for an excellent effort overall. Even Wideman skated well. Elliott was outstanding; those two huge saves in overtime...wow.
I really really hate to mention the officiating, but it was pretty brutal, especially in the third period. Many blatant holds and a clear interference play uncalled.

Silver lining: with the loser point, LA can't catch us tonight. Other than that  Oilers. Also, Brodie is a much better player on his backhand, it's like poetry. Not saying he needs to be reunited with Gio but he most definitely needs to be moved back to the right side.

Why does Gulutzan always open OT with 2F 1D?
Stop trying to re-invent the wheel we were the best 3-on-3 team on the planet a year ago opening with 2D 1F.

Is it weird I'm not mad? Elliott was the reason we even got a point to take it into OT and the shootout. That last save was insane and he was good all night. Hopefully this gets him his confidence back.
Sucks we're 4 points behind the Grease but still. I can't be too mad about that game. Johnny and Mony need to do way better in shootouts though.

Outside of the shootout that was a very entertaining game. Great golatending on both sides and some big hits thrown. A real shame the Battle of Alberta is only 4 games in total. We need more of these divisional rivalry games.

Great effort by the team on a back-to-back. Didn't notice most of the Oilers best players at all. Flames shut down McDavid for 60 minutes, then survived in OT.
If we play that exact game going forward we'll be fine.
