I think both of them like to be the puck carrier on their lines. Bennett charges in full speed and will occasionally pull off a spectacular move, more often than not he loses it. Gaudreau likes to slow the play down. I just don't think their styles compliment each other. Monahan finds open ice and makes himself available for a pass. It may not be working recently but I'd like to see them stick with that pairing and find who works on the right wing.

The main problem the Flames have is lack of quality third options on each line. The only line that has three quality players on it is Backlund's line. Brouwer, Versteeg, and Chiasson are not going to help much in the offensive department with any consistency. They are 3rd/4th line players playing on scoring lines. The Flames desperately need one or two skill players in their lineup to help the rest of the quality players that are being stuck with mediocre players. Just have to wait unfortunately until some cap can be freed up elsewhere.
