The Battle of Alberta
Matt Stajan will be playing his 900th career game tonight
After what can only be described as a disappointing game last night, the Calgary Flames look to seek retribution against their provincial rivals tonight. This Flames vs Oilers tonight sets its self up as the most important game in this rivalry in at least a decade. Emotions are sure to run high in both corners.
The Oilers are 5-3-2 in their last ten
The Flames are 6-4-0 in their last ten
the Oilers are enjoying a lead in the standings at 51 points. Even though the Flames have won more games, they sit three points behind their division rivals with 48 points.

I know the Oiler players have been publicly clamouring that Tkachuk better be ready to answer the bell for his slewfoot on Brandon Davidson in the opener that injured him for a couple months. I wonder if he'll go??

We have already played them since then, that doesn't make sense.
We play like we did last night 7-0 oilers.

The Oilers have their fair share of dirty players too. I say they should just start the game with all the goons on the ice and let it happen. This is the first time in forever that this game actually meant something. May as well get it off to a good start.

They had some player interviews on the radio about a month ago when Davidson was coming back from injury talking about how they'll be looking for Tkachuk to answer the bell for his slewfoot during this game. Could be meaningless banter but keep your eyes open for it as it's at least on their minds...

Ugh, I am not looking forward to this. If its Johnson in net then hes on the second night of a back-to-back and if its Elliott then I'm not looking forward to his nightly muffin.
