[QUOTE=djsFlames;6082645]Honestly if Gaudreau and Bennett's could help chip in a (singular) goal once every second game, it could make all the difference.

If I were Johnny I'd be doing passing drills all tomorrow morning after all those mis-passes tonight. Mr. Hockey really needs to redeem himself after this week./QUOTE]

I would say so... He is dead. Hard to score many goals.

It's going to be un-effing-bearable if we put in the same effort tomorrow.

Pathetic effort for the most part. Games like these you just can't give away. Win in regulation tomorrow and it'll be forgotten, but play like they did tonight and it won't be close. Better wake up and put in a much better effort.

I don't know what's going on the last 3-4 games, but puck management has been brutal. Just way to many stupid decisions and by our skilled guys too. Gaudreau was awful tonight. Maybe the worst game I've seen him play. Couldn't handle the puck to save his life tonight. They can't rely on the Backlund line every night. Other lines need to step up.

Bouma was one of the lone bright spots for me. He has really put together a good stretch of games the last 6-8 games.

I'll be in attendance tomorrow night. Better see a much better game from the flames.

That's about as bad as we've seen this years team play. Real early October effort right there.

Harder the fall, the stronger the bounce back, right?

Johnson kept them in this one. Hard to believe that team could beat us so soundly.

What a piss poor effort. They were looking ahead to tomorrow's tilt and it cost them two big points.

I watched New Jersey play last night and they are terrible, arguably bottom three in the league.

Our supposed best players are simply not playing like it right now at all. One goal in 11 games for Monahan is unacceptable for what we're paying him.

I realize teams have ups and downs, but this team is a shadow of it's former self during that six game win streak.

Every time they get a chance to climb five games above .500 they blow it. They'll be out of a playoff spot by the end of next week at this point which may be exactly the kick in the rear this team needs.

Something doesn't seem quite right with this group when we could be climbing the playoff ladder against teams we should be beating! Are we playing well enough to lose? Backlunds line can't be expected to do it all.

Let's be honest, when Chiasson is in your top 6 you've got big problems. What do you offer up to upgrade up front. This years 1st + B prospect? Bennett can't hack it at Centre yet, move him back to wing PLEASE!!!!

Say what you will about the Flames effort, but New Jersey played a really solid game tonight. Good, responsible, hard effort hockey. Chad's the only reason the score wasn't worse and the boys had a chance at all.

The boys didn't play well tonight. Hope they win tomorrow. They probably will. I feel better already.

These guys weren't ready from the get go. Horriable game, falls on the coach not having the boys ready, they took the Devils lightly.
Threw away an easy 2 pts.

What's going on with the Flames' passes lately? Seems like every time one of our players tries to complete a pass, it either ends up in someone's skates, gets intercepted, or the guy receiving the pass bobbles the puck, resulting in an odd-man rush the other way. I've noticed this a lot with Gaudreau lately, and this is a guy whose puck handling skills are usually 2nd to none. So what's the issue? Are these guys just over-thinking everything?

During that great stretch when they were winning often, we saw lots of hard, crisp, smart, tape-to-tape passes, and their offence looked much more dangerous. Now the only time they ever look dangerous is when when they're on the PP, or the odd shift when Backlund's line is on the ice.

No offense lately. That's what, the 4th game in a row without 3goals

Chad Johnson is so cool and efficient in his positioning it's gotta instill confidence for the team. Dougie is projecting to be recognized in the media as 'elite' in the very near future. Games like this when the team is struggling I like that Hamilton tries to step up and is genuinely super enthused when they get late/important goals. He's a stud.

I thought if Bennett and Gaudreau had had some puck luck early they could have done more damage, but tonight I'd credit the Devils for playing a tenaciously stifling road game and had the jump on turnovers. Kinkaid looked relaxed solid throughout the game and has a cool pad design, trippy in a good way.

Let's hope this loss fires the Flames up to alley-fight the Greasers and show no mercy. Put me down for a great night coming from Bennett & Gaudreau.

Are people that fast to forget that? The Flames have done a lot of good over the last 20-25 games. Tonight was the not the norm of late. It was a stinker, stinkers happen. Move on.
Perhaps....

Lose to a very bad WPG team without scoring a goal, lose to a very bad NJ team while scoring one goal. Looked like ass in both games.

Play like that tomorrow and we are 5 points behind the Oilers and they have a game in hand.

You have to at least put the effort in. They aren't consistently doing that, and it is costing them points against teams that should be easy wins if they just outworked them.
