No. I never said it was a terrible play I said it was an inexperienced mistake. He needlessly gave away possession trying to be cute with the puck.

It really has nothing to do with Giordano and his mistake, it is all on Tkachuk for giving the puck to San Jose when no one on the flames expected it to happen.

One of the Flames' two best D-men tonight. Jokipakka was a rock, the guy who I was really excited to get from Dallas. It was awesome to watch tonight.

his RW is a borderline NHLer and his center is young like him and having a tough season. Guy would be up there with the scoring leaders if he played with someone who had any finish IMO

I feel awful for wanting the Flames to trade up and get Pulj, I apologize Tkachuk!! What a beauty this kid is. Him taking Burns's stick to the bench was something Keith would've done. Awesome

Nope.
Had everything to do with Gio. Nobody else, IMO.

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
Gulutzan on Tkachuk taking Burns' stick: “I don’t know (what Tkachuk was doing)...

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
.... I’m sure he could have handed it back but knowing the kid, he wasn't going to give it back.”

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
“It’s like stealing the guy’s girlfriend. He’s got his stick. Burnzie was having a pretty good game and I’m sure he wanted it back.”

With 10 seconds to go....the weak side D has one and only one responsibility.

The kid said from day 1 that he was ready for the NHL, I think people have been spoiled by seeing what Matthewes and Laine are doing. Tkachuk has come on the Flames and has gotten better every passing week. Him playing on London was the best thing to happen for the Flames. People got a false notion that he was "complimentary player" because of who he was playing with. Clearly Dim Jim thought this as well, the master drafter.

What does that have to do with Tkachuk making an inexperienced play?

He's not wrong. The Flames breakouts were horrawful tonight and San Jose got a lot of offensive zone time because of it. Their puck management (especially at the opposition blue line) is not good at all, and the Burns goal tonight started on a foolish pass by Versteeg.

The Flames have been beating themselves quite a bit, especially of late. It's better than getting beat because you're the inferior team but I really do think the Flames could be doing much better than they are if they could stop making the basic mistakes.

Just got home from the game. Had to suffer through 25 minutes of Derrick Wills yammering on about what a bad penalty Tkatchuk took in the second despite 3 separate telling him
He was wrong including Dave Cameron. Move on buddy, you were wrong. Wasn't a bad penalty at all. Tkatchuk got hooked, skated through it and went directly into the bench from my vantage point. Burns should been the one in the box.
