Johnson played well when called upon...Flames didn't allow a ton of chances and neither did the Sharks...this is the kinda hockey we will see down the stretch.

I get what you are saying and I agree in part. Johnson was very good but his performance was emphasized by the timeliness of his last save. I actually thought that was a great character win. The Flames chipped away and looked poised through the second and third periods, and even though the Sharks were playing with five defensemen on their second game in two nights I thought that Calgary gets full marks for maintaining their composure and applying pressure at the right time.
Well done, Flames.

That ATL report was fantastic. I had no issues with any of he Sharks fans comments, not whiny at all, pretty knowledgeable and overall good fan base. Easy to be like that when your team just went to the finals I guess. But those Oiler and Canuck tears are sooooooo delicious.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy the Flames are having success, I just don't get it... It's like watching one of those magic tricks where my eyes are telling me with 100% certainty that the hat is empty, yet suddenly there's a rabbit coming out.

Or you just have really high expections. Monahan has been worse than previous years but Hamilton is on pace for career highs in points, same with Backlund, same with Frolik. Team is very young, Johnny is still a magician the guys on his line need to step up. Wideman shouldn't be in any teams top 4 but what are you gonna do. In a year or two hopefully Andersson and Kyligton can get places on this team and the Flames will have some nice cap room at the end of the season. Don't be so down, we are in the Playoffs, very young, and competitive most nights. We have a rookie who is fresh out of Junior who is on pace to have a 50 plus point season, this is exciting stuff. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Inexperienced mistake by Tkachuk in the final 25 seconds there. That move to bring the puck in the corner and grind away sometime works if there is five or 10 seconds left not 25 seconds. He gave away possession to San Jose for no reason. Flames had the puck, why not just keep moving the puck around on the perimeter? The extra attacker for the flames would've really limited San Jose's ability to attack.

He played a great game from start to finish. He kept the Flames in the game and saved the win with a fantastic save on Boddeker. It was a close game and he was the difference maker in the win.

I agree but I'm sure he thought his Dman would be awake in case he lost the puck. It's all good we won, good learning lesson

For me it's the never ending tears from the Canucks Fans. That they have to watch Chucky for the foreseeable future in the Flaming C, and how crusty they are about it... MMmMMM Yes, Pants tighteningly good.

The Joulevi board on HF always gives me a great laugh. Everyday another 5 pages of arguments about how they should've taken Tkachuk.

In the last minute, taking the puck deep and trying to chew up time is hardly a terrible play.
I thought that play was 100% on Gio for not tracking the Shark as he faded to the neutral zone.

Good win. But holy crap are the flames getting hosed by the refs lately. As blatent a hit from behind on tkachuk as you'll see... No call. Brodie penalty shot call, maybe but close, gaudreau empty netter should have been a goal that almost changed the game if boedkker had converted that breakaway.
Not a ton of stuff but gamechanging calls.
Last game seeing hathaway get ran by two different guys after his hit on ehlers I think their goon even dropped his gloves, nothing. Always say they even out but lately seens like a lot of bad breaks in that dept.

For sure he had his moments but he isn't dominating the game like he used too. Maybe it has something to do with not always playing with the same line mates. Opposition teams are doing a better job of keeping him in check and somehow Gaudreau has to redefine some of his game.
