I was watching the news and Crazy Jane was sitting in front of reporters talking about how much her heart hurt and blah blah blah.

And then someone started asking her questions about her views and about how much knowledge she actually had about what's going on up there and she did the typical celebrity thing and ended her press access.

The toughest thing when you have any kind of view is to defend that view no matter what the costs. Celebrities like these fail because they try to sell their views based on their fame and personality and feel that they don't actually have to know anything about it.

Look at me, I'm Leo, I have steely blue eyes, worship me and my views but don't ask me any questions.

Hi I'm Jane Fonda and my breasts are spectacular, what do I know about the Oilsands? Only what the guys writing my checks tell me which is Oil Sands are bad M'kay.

She was probably taken back when she was on the aerial tour with the chief and he wasn't against the projects since a this is nothing like the whole standing rock thing. Just ended up parroting what green peace said to get her up her.

It's quite obvious with the slow down in the oil sands the effect of global warming has slowed causing the normal cold temperatures we are seeing. It's a scary feeling when those warm winds blow in during winter. Where would we be without celebrities to protect us.

Gee whiz Jane Fonda, thanks for teaching us backwards Albertans how to run our province.

Yes, but I would probably get banned for posting it.

But she had one really great shot in her movie with Tina Fey and Jason Batemen that confirms my view.

Jane Seymour has better jewelry. I'm named after a Jane Fonda character. I saw a bunny today and it was brown. Oil sands are brown. That's a wrap here in my books.

I would not be opposed to Canada being a little more restrictive on allowing visitors, based on their intent. I think the right to protest is important, but protest tourism is a little much. Especially considering the complete lack of awareness required to ignore what is happening environmentally in the US, fly to Canada, and protest here.
How do you know they're ignoring what's happening in the U.S? You a wizard?

I'm a pretty left-leaning fella, I like moving to renewables, but I think this ship has sailed...We get it, you don't like the Oilsands. Move on.

Oil will never go away, at least not in our lifetimes. The best we can do is produce responsibly and keep introducing renewables.

This. I feel the next 4 years will see a marked decline in this special interest in blocking oil sands so US fracked oil can flow freely. The US is about to lose any (false) appearance of moral high ground in a week. So much so that paying a celebrity (direct/indirect) to come up here won't have the punch it used to.

Coming up here to protest Oil Sands while you're revving up coal, and ripping up Paris I think will silence most celebrities. Their focus will be defending the homeland from the scourge that is Trump. That I see is the hip celebrity thing to do in the near term.

So turn on the taps Alberta we have a whole bunch of steam clouds to pollute the earth waiting to be unleashed! Rip the skin off mother earths body baby!

I wish the press would start asking these celebrities parachuting in to wag their fingers at us some tougher questions.

They could start with "how much are you being paid to come here, and who is paying you"

How about asking them why they feel entitled to use 100x more energy than the average person. Hey look everyone I fly around the world in jets preaching about the evils of oil.

I blame the people that invited her. Presumably Albertans.

someone tried that with Jane when I was watching the news, and she suddenly became basically too upset to talk to the press and stormed off.

Celebrities like to control access and control the message and the message bearer. Like politicians except that quite a few of these celebrities with causes have suffered brain damage.

Hopefully the Donald and his inevitable scorched earth policies can provide a trendy distraction for the who's-who of Hollywood over the next four years, letting us focus on rebuilding this province in peace.

The internet suggests she is a 34b - she looks a little petite, so you may be right.

Maybe next time calamity Jane blows into fort mac, she will take a tour with the folks from syncrude/suncor and get the other side of the story so she can make an informed proclimation

Where was she when Fort McMurray was experiencing a record heat wave? They were looking for Firefighting volunteers, we even brought some in from South Africa.

Where was Jane Fonda when she was really needed?
