Golden showers is the strange part that has (I'm sure only in part) led to the blackmail. I think the real problems will come when what's happened as a result of this blackmail comes to light. What has he agreed to as President to do on behalf of the Kremlin to keep this quiet? How much direct communication has there been?

I suspect the intelligence community leaks this because it makes trump no longer blackmailable. So either he's impeached at the end of this or no longer has to answer to the russians. So from a securing the country perspective you could see why say an outgoing president would authorize this type of leak.

It's not like it's classified info though, just some unverified report, so I don't think Obama would need to declassify it. Journalists have even had their hands on it since the campaign from reports.
