Here come the $10 words. I don't need to explain myself to you. I've said over and over I am against the killing of any innocent people.
Israel is pure scum and a terrorist attack against them doesn't change that.
RIP to the 4 innocent people who lost their lives.

Wait. Were you the guy who was complaining about too many big words in political threads?

Yeah I doubt that Palestinians hate Israel simply because they're Jewish. Rather, they're forced to live in appalling conditions on their ancestral homeland because they're not Jewish.

I mean, yeah, them being Jewish probably has almost nothing to do with it, really.

It's amazing that nobody gets this. You HAVE to be Jewish to enter Israel freely. Doesn't matter if you're in Canada, or Japan. If you're not Jewish you will face restrictions entering even if you're a Christian blonde hair blue eyed white man. If you're Jewish and anywhere in the world, you are welcome and encouraged to move to Israel. If you're not, you aren't.
This is what we are supporting as a nation. Pretty disgusting.

Do you honestly believe Hamas would have any type of support if Israel treated the Palestinians with dignity?

Absolute nonsense. I got off a ferry from Greece, got my passport stamped, filled out some paperwork, and a few hours later I was living and working in a moshav in the Negev, 10 km from the Egyptian border and 15 km from Jordan. And I'm not Jewish.
One thing that stands out is that three of the Israeli soldiers who were killed were young women, while the Palestinians rallying in support of the attack were all men. Israeli women are among the most liberated in the world, while Palestinian women live like it's still the 15th century.

And not that it makes a difference but I see some people saying 3 women and 1 soldier were the victims.
All 4 were soldiers.

Absolute nonsense? I agree, but it's Israeli law and calling it nonsense doesn't change that.
Read up on the Israeli law of return.

How does that matter? Seriously. Are you saying that the Canadian Soldier that was shot at the war memorial in Ottawa and the other one that was run down by a car in Hamilton were legitimate targets and their killing really wasn't a crime?
They weren't on a battlefield facing an enemy wearing distinctive uniforms. They were run down by a piece of s%%% coward in a truck as they were getting off of a bus.

I like how he crucifies anyone who even thinks about not allowing gay marriage in other threads and yet he calls the only safe country in the entire middle east for homosexuals "pure scum".
Buddy is pretty much the densest person on this site from what I've seen.

It would have some. Perhaps less. That is a complicated question, but I don't really want to turn the thread into a general "Israel vs Palestine" argument thread, despite the fact that that's probably inevitable.
I was only really pointing out that calgaryblood's usual mode of "Here's what I think about the moral realities of this situation, and am absolutely sure I'm right about it even though it exhibits no ability to recognize any shade of gray". This from someone who doesn't like big words. Maybe a little allowance for nuance and the possibility that your outright condemnation for a society living under constant attack might not be all that solid?
That being said...

This sort of thing is totally unhelpful. What reason do you have to believe that Calgaryblood's opinion is motivated by anti-semitism, as opposed to drinking the kool-aid from Chomskyites and their ilk? The latter seems way more likely to me. I've commented before that the knee-jerk accusations of racism and bigotry that have become far more prevalent in the last five years or so used to be most common as a tactic to shut up critics of Israeli policy.
You're not a mind reader, you don't know why he believes what he believes, and absent good evidence on that point, either ascribe to him the most charitable possible motivation based on the evidence you do have or refrain from ascribing any to him at all.

What are you talking about?!
All I said was some are confused and were only calling the male a soldier and the other three as simply "women". There was confusion and I clarified it. all 4 were soldiers. The pictures posted only show the male in uniform so I can see where the confusion came from.

This is a shameful thing to say. I have zero problems with anybody of any faith. Israel and Jewish are not the same.
I do hate Israel and absolutely do not hate Jews.

Ya, I impulsively and foolishly posted this. My apologies. Gonna edit out. Never been one to make inflammatory claims on this site. This particular story does have me a little heated though.

Totally understandable. How could you not. Which other countries do you hate, btw?
