Flames have been pretty good at beating teams they should beat, ocassionly goalies are going to play good and bounces won't go your way, if they play the same game tonight with one or two less mistakes they'll walk out the dome happy.

The Flames will be angry after last night, and they should be. They put in one of their most dominating performances of the season and came out with nothing. As long as Johnson is competent, the Flames win this game handily. There is no way they don't want to destroy that team just as much as we do, and it will show tonight.

The Flames have got 3 out of a possible 10 points against the Canucks and Oilers this season. That's not going to get you into the playoffs.

If you win your divisional season series and tie most of the cross-conference series, you've probably made the playoffs. You're going to lose some to bad teams that you can make up in a rematch and you're going to fluke some away from better teams that they're going to make up a rematch. So far the following season series have been decided:

VS Pacific:
Arizona 4-0-0 (1GR)

VS Central:
Chicago 1-2-0 (Complete)
Minnesota 2-0-0 (1GR)
Colorado 2-0-0 (1GR)

VS East:
Columbus 1-1-0 (Complete)
Buffalo 1-1-0 (Complete)

Just gotta win 3 of 5 against the Canucks and you've still won the season series. Or at least go 1-0-1 in the next two games to tie that series in points, though that's not preferable in a division matchup.

Ideally you get a four and move Wideman down, but at this point I'd take a solid 6.

I thought Kulak has been fine. A couple bad games, but a young solid #6 has those

i had a men's league hockey game last night and had to listen to a delusional canucks fan go on and on about how the flames are trending downward and the canucks are trending up.... yea... ok - whatever.
he was going on about how the current powerplay percentage of the flames is not sustainable, just like how they did all those late third period comebacks from a couple seasons ago were unsustainable.

i'm looking forward to seeing him on tuesday night and asking him if he thinks getting out shot 46-13 and getting a win is sustainable

gaaaaah i hate the canucks and their unbearable fan base

any word on who is doing the play by play? i'd LOVE it if is was rick ball!

Yesterday's outcome was the Hockey Equivalent of Trump winning US election: How the hell did that happen!? I for one, blame Trudeau. This would never happen under a conservative government. It's all west-coast politics and shady reffing.
Flames take a stand against statiscal blips tonight and right the ship, saving us all from a softwood lumber trade embargo. 5-2 Flames.

Don't get politics mixed with sports, you say? Bollocks and down the hatch!

Yup. Worst fan base in pro sports by a country mile. They're just so incredibly insufferable. I hate how cocky they are, even though their pathetic franchise has never won anything. They've rattled off 6 wins in a row, so now suddenly they're Cup favorites in the eyes of their d-bag fans.

Yes. Wideman not a total joke this year but still badly need a #4 next year.
The depth is so thin.

			Yep.
If not Alzner, I'd love to see the Flames take a run at Dmitry Kulikov, Michael Stone, and even Michael Del Zotto after this season, for better D depth. Right now, under contract or RFA for next season, the Flames have three top-four guys and two 6/7 guys in the NHL right now, but there is a definite need for guys to play at the 4/5 level.

 How would this look?

 Giordano - Hamilton
 Brodie - Stone
 Kulikov - Jokipakka
 Kulak

 I like that a lot.

Win tonight and we pad the cushion a bit.
Lose and we're out of a playoff spot.
