It has been entertaining to hear people talk about the recent resurgence of the Nucks. They have won 5 in a row! Wowsers!
Fact is that every team - no matter how bad - goes on hot streaks. And that's all I see this as being.

The Nucks have no depth, little high end talent, and don't score a lot of goals.

Great, they have won 5 in a row. But my expectation is that they'll be losing 4 or 5 in a row, soon enough.

If they can sustain things for 20 games, then we can re-evaluate.

Until then, crappy team on a hot streak. And hopefully it ends in soul-crushing fashion tonight!

These games are so critical for me personally. Living in Victoria and being a proud Flames Fan makes wins so sweet. The thought of 2 losses terrifies me.
 Good thing that wont happen!

While looking at the Canucks roster this morning I said to myself "who the hell is that" no fewer than 3 times.

I expect nothing less than 3 points out of these games. It would be pretty damn embarrassing if the Flames allowed the Nucks to pass them in the standings.

I want to see nothing less than a humiliating beat down of the Canucks. I want to see Sven crying and begging for forgiveness of the flames after the game, I want to see Burrows get burned so bad that he retires immediately after the game never to see his smug finger biting face again, I want the Sedins to look as broken and dejected as the Avalanche did the last game, a complete and utter soul crushing beat down. Or just a solid win would be ok too I suppose.

If the Flames can win both games they could potentially pass Oilers and tie the ducks and sharks for 1st in the division if they all lost.

Vancouver has scored a whopping 12 goals in regulation in those 5 games (plus 1 in regulation). They've been outshot in every game but 1 and allowed above league average shots per game throughout. Their opponents shooting percentage is 4.5% and there's is 11%. Can't see this continuing

4 pts or I will be disappointed. Make no mistake Van is a terrible team that gets dominated for long stretches in games. If we are for real we spank them in both games.

Just looks wrong to me. Information I am seeing has Sven at 69th in points per 60. That puts him behind Gaudreau, Versteeg, and Tkachuk. There would be no room for Beartschi on Calgary's LW.

Gaudrea 2.74
Versteeg 2.81
Tkachuk 2.71
Baertschi 2.67

Segment 10 is mostly a home set. Segment 8 looks like a tougher stretch to me.

In any event, this is what all teams except the Oilers must contend with. The Flames will be fine.

He's on a hot streak, he will come back down to earth without a doubt. He was always gonna be a tweener on the Flames especially with us getting Tkachuk. If you aren't gonna play Sven on the top 2 lines he's useless and he isn't missed at all by the flames. Terrible defensively, if he's not scoring or creating chances (which before this streak he wasn't) he's a liability. We keep him on this team and we are soft like butter. I like the fact that we may of gotten a top 4 Dman on Rasmus for him.

I live in Van. All the talk here is about "should we have taken Tkachuk." I hope he has a big game!
