The Avs GM is brutal. Look at that lineup. And I gotta feel for Bednar he wasn't ready for that Tire fire.

I do not blame Sakic for this, yet. When ownership treats their home grown talent like garbage and forcing them to sign contracts below market value, you will drive them away (ie. Stastny, O'Reilly).

Thought it might have been about who won the ceremonial faceoff for minor hockey week.

Flames looked a lot better tonight. Hopefully they dont take the Canucks lightly. We need a least 3 points out of those two games.

Fair enough but when trading away the talent that you can't sign you need to get a return that can contribute now or in the future. The Stastny debacle wasn't on him but the O'Reilly one was. None of his moves or signings have panned out. Avs need to move away from the old boys club there. It really is the Oilers 2.0

I wish Iggy got to fight Gio. That would've been beyond epic.

I am kinda glad he did. I am equal parts worried that Iggy would beat up our captain, or that our former captain would embarrass himself.

I was at the game tonight. I took my brother who is an aves fan. Lol. Always nice to be at the dome for a win.
I am happy with the game overall but my God was that first period terrible hockey. For the first time ever I wished I was watching after work on game center so that l could fast forward to the second. If we played like that against any other team in the league we would have been down by at least two after the first. I understand it was four days since the last game but that should have been more reason to have some jump. At one point it took them at least five full seconds to execute a line change with everyone at the bench. It liked like they were discussing what they had for lunch.
Another thing that I am noticing is that the league really is working at reducing/eliminating fights. They just haven't come out and said it publicly for fear of a backlash. That was some quick break up tonight between captains new and old. I would have loved to see it but deep down I am sort of happy it didn't happen. Maybe I am living in the past but pretty sure that Iggy would have come out on top. In the end however I was happy to see Gio finally show some sack tonight. I feel like he hasn't been assertive enough lately.
Now let's hand those scumbag Canucks two losses and carry on our way to the playoffs.

@Chingas - that is really surprising to me. From the TV set the first (and whole game really) I thought we looked really dominant.
I believe they didn't even get a shot on goal till after 10 min

Iginla would not have embarrassed himself in a fight against Giordano.

When I say the first was bad I meant both teams were bad. After watching the juniors on tv downstairs just before the first it looked as though the game was being played in Mud. I think that it was the worst period of hockey that I have ever watched live. Zero jump zero emotion. I have seen more intense 9 ball games on cheap cable tv. Jmo of course.

Havent got to catch the last few games since im over seas. But just looking at the stat sheets is it safe to say Brodie is getting back to form? Can anyone who has watched the last 5-10 games comment on this?
