I'm quite a bit younger than the rest of you (except savardandjokinen), but I remember being like, three and watching the TV as I heard the news that the Flames traded Savard. I was pretty distraught. I thought Savard was a fantastic name. "Fantastic name" has not ceased to be in my playbook to this day.

I remember going to Sunridge mall, when it was brand new, almost every Friday evening with my family. We would get dinner at the food court (where DSW is now), and then get our groceries from the Woodward's Food Floor (where Sport Chek is now). When I was lucky, my folks would get me a pencil in the shape of a goalie stick (the eraser was the blade) from the shop where RW and Co is now, I think it was a Hallmark store.

I remember how huge everything seemed to be as a child. Always remember my elementary school being gigantic but going back later to realize how small it actually was.
Whitespot was another place that I remembered being super big and super dark but realizing later that it was neither.
I remember being in my room, listening to Peter Maher on 66 CFR or QR97 (I think?) during Flames games and pretending to be Mike Vernon with a ball cap as a glove and one of those bouncy balls as a puck.
I remember being a very young child and taking trips to Saskatoon with my mom when my dad wasn't able to go, to visit our family friends via Greyhound bus. Loved going there but hated the bus ride.
I remember lying down underneath the Christmas tree for hours in the evening staring up into the lights.
I remember our family's weekend routine, which would be swimming lessons and the library on Saturdays and grocery shopping and dim sum lunch with friends in Chinatown on Sundays, followed by dinner at our house Sunday evening when everyone would come over in the afternoon, the parents would play mahjong in the afternoon while the kids played until dinner time.

This one didn't make the list I've compiled with my crack team of therapists at the Mayo Clinic. But I remember pretty clearly the day someone spray painted Led Zeppelin on my elementary school. The white letters on the red brick windowless wall really jumped out at me. I remember thinking Led Zeppelin must be really evil and whoever did the painting must be the worst of the worst. Devil worshipers. They covered it with more white paint but you could still see the demonic letters shining through. I never once threw my lacrosse ball against that wall again.
Wow this makes me feel old. There are many, but this in particular, watching this on this at my grandmas
This song is and forever will be ingrained in my head. Thinking about it now, I think it's time for a new ringtone. Although I think nobody in Regina will understand what the hell it is.
-I was about 2-3 years old. I was watching the old Hercules cartoon while my mom clipped my toe nails. She accidentally got the skin and it started bleeding everywhere. I was so transfixed on the show that I didn't noticed. Until I heard my Mom whisper to my Dad ''Do you think he'll notice?". I looked up at them, then down at my toe with blood pouring out. Finally started crying.
-I lived in San Francisco during the earthquake of '89. I remember hiding under a table as everything shook. I then remember watching the news when the Bay Bridge collapsed and a car struggling to get back up. I remember seeing footage of Disneyland and one of the carousels was damaged.
-My very first day of kindergarten was memorable. There was this crazy/psychopath kid named Dominique who used to terrorise everyone. For whatever reason, he decided to pick on me on day #1 and told the teacher that I jump kicked him in the face in the boys' washroom. I had done no such thing. I hadn't even gone to the washroom that day. He even had fake tears and everything. The teacher took his side and I got sent to the principal's office on my very first day of school ever. I had no idea what was going on and didn't have the vocabulary skills to explain that I was innocent.
-In grade 4 or 5, Hawks helicopter had just been purchased by CPS. They were going to fly to our school, land in the field and all the students would sit outside while the police showed us the new machine and what it did. Every class was allowed to ask 1 question. So our class brainstormed and of course our question was ''what kind of weapons does it have?". I remember we were all thinking it had crazy gatling guns or machine guns. Instead we were all disappointed to learn that the only guy was the hand gun on the officer's holster. Lame.

Grade four going to Lloyd's and playing Xenophobe, the single greatest arcade game in history. Then stopping by Jumbo Video and convincing a babysitter to let me rent Revenge of the Nerds. ...It got turned off quickly but for a few brief moments it was glorious. I was equally impressed by lady bits and the fact that a guy was named Booger.
My very earliest memory, and I would have been under 1 year old, is very brief, but it is of what would have been one of the last coal trains in Canmore passing our back alley. I just remember glimpsing it through the slats on the brown fence, and hearing it rumble slowly by. I know it sounds improbable, but the mine closed, trains stopped, and we moved out of the house before I was 1.
My earliest memory of a song was sitting on the carpet playing behind the couch and my mom had The Doors, Riders on the Storm playing on record. I remember thinking of horse riders riding dark storm clouds above great plains. Coincidentally, this song is also the first one my wife ever remembers. No idea how old I was, but under 5 becuase it must have been before Return of the Jedi came out.
I was 6 years old when my dads friend, Bobby One-Wing, cut his arm off in his home mill, thus giving him the aforementioned nickname. After several surgeries and several prosthetics, he decided to only use a hook if he absolutely needed to.
Bobby ended up getting a job with the city and became the new rink rat. His first day running the tractor (our awesome zamboni) he grabs me and hauls me around for a ride.

-Playing hockey tournaments in Rossland and thinking the "Green Machines" had the greatest team name ever.
-Breaking up with my Grade 1 "girlfriend" because she was too clingy by throwing sticks at her.
-And of course my first Flames game which was a tie against the Habs on NYE . I also remember my dad taking me to line up at the Southcentre Ticketmaster at 9am one morning to get the tickets.
