2014 BMW 3 series - 11.5L/100KM - stage 2 tuned turbo car though, so not stock....

2015 Honda Odyssey Touring... 11.3L/100KM mixed city and highway, wife has a light right foot.

These are all per the in dash computers, don't care enough to recalculate by hand to verify.

My 2016 GMC 2500 Sierra Diesel gets about:

14.8 l/100km City
around 12/100 highway, sometimes less (I love this)
about 22-24l/100km towing.

We have a 2011 GMC Acadia with the 3.8l and get about 11.5 city and 10 or so highway. That thing sucks on gas compared to the truck.

Yeah, that truck went to Wyoming a couple of times, Moab, Colorado Springs, Oregon, Tofino, Whitefish a few times, Whistler, Sunshine Coast, Okanagan, Oregon, etc, for vacation trips, and I lived in Cochrane and commuted to downtown Calgary everyday.

Wow, how do you guys drive so little? Currently, as the primary vehicle, we have a 2003 GMC Yukon, which we have taken from 180,000 to 482,000 km in the past 6 years. Nearly 50,000 per year. Granted, we live on an acreage just outside the city limits, and drive all over AB for minor hockey, but still ... so many of you drive 10,000 km a year. So different!

As for mileage, over the 6 years and nearly 300,000 km, the Yukon has averaged 15.3 L / 100 km, about 50/50 highway vs Calgary traffic. The mileage is about 2L / 100km worse in the dead of winter compared to the summer....

I've tracked every penny that has gone into the truck in the last 4 years, along with gas prices at each fill-up and location. This includes maintenance, car washes, fuel, insurance, modifications and any money I have received from people for helping them with the truck. Spreadsheet spits out an all-in cost per KM.

I'm only at 113 fill-ups.

How are you and other people getting the city/highway split? Is it just based of the manufacturer data or are you doing a separate calculation each time you switch between city and highway?

If so, what are you considering for city and for highway?

Even if you have a 4x2 2.7L V6, that's 1.5L better that Ford's claims for highway mileage.

Unless the whole 50,000km is zero city, zero idling, all done in the perfect speed range and downhill on the highway with a tailwind.

2015 VW Golf 5 SPD 1.8 TSI.

7.5L/100k in the summer. 8.5L/100 in the winter. It was about the same in my old TDI - that is, winter took 1 litre off the average.

The thing got 6.2L/100km last week on a trip to Edmonton. Actually 6.0 on the way up when I was mostly on cruise, then 6.2 while being a little more proactive.

I bike to work year round, my wife does in the summer, and bus's in the winter. So typically we do one trip to the grocery store a week, my wife takes it 1 or 2 evenings somewhere not to far away, and I my use my truck to run to the hardware store for something. Every 2-3 weeks we got to Canmore. Maybe a trip to no goodsville once a year. That's about it for driving. I have no idea how some of you spend so much of your lives in a vehicle!
