Thankfully, as soon the Gregorian calendar changes to 2017, all death and bad luck will stop. It's a good thing they changed the Julian calendar to th Gregorian one in 1582 so that all bad things stop after December 31, 2016. It's too bad Calgary is in the mountain time zone and their bad luck stops 15 hours after China's bad luck stops.

(CP'ers) post threads about mourning those dear to their hearts, lost this year.
Dinks emerge.
It's been a horrible year of loss. I will never get anything new from David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen..........

My wife's mother died Dec 23. The service is Monday. Not a nice way to start the New Year.
There's never a good time to lose someone, but Christmas time is the worst.
Rest In Peace, Colleen

Don't be a dick. Many people are looking forward to the end of 2016 and it has nothing to do with "luck".
You'll never miss an opportunity though to look smarter than everyone else and put them down.
I'm looking forward to this year to end because of many reasons. A few being I lost my grandma a month or so ago and my close friend lost his son a week ago.
It's turning a new page and looking forward to a new year. Nothing to do with luck. Keep fighting the good fight though, nobody knows the end of a certain date means nothing. You should keep reminding us.
