Just it back. Definitely didn't get pushed around. I usually don't notice the linesmen but they were absolutely brutal with face offs tonight. Drop the GD puck already.

Pretty even game 5-on-5; Ducks with a couple of garbage goals around the net on the PP, and the GWG came off a bad pinch by Wideman. Gibson was solid for the Ducks but I don't think was tested with too many quality SOG. Special teams was the difference tonight.

Hard to say if the result would have been different if they convert the 2-0, but you have to get a shot on net. To flub it away without even making Gibson make a save is borderline inexcusable.

Having Brodie play on the PP is just painful; putting him with Versteeg makes it worse because he's usually pass-first as well.

This is true as well. Chiasson forced Bennett into a situation where his ability to shoot was limited. Chiasson could have easily attempted a shot instead of passing.

The Flames as a whole struggled with seeking out the perfect shot tonight.

It's crazy to me how much we missed Dougie today. I think today shows that from an offensive standpoint he might be our second most important player after Johnny.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how awesome it was when Backlund drilled Kesler in the head at the end of the game. I have no issues with that penalty. In fact, I'd love to see that made into a GIF.

Because that wasn't Kesler he drilled in the back of the head sadly. It was Nick Ritchie.

Wiseman cost us two goals against. Wideman is poo.

Johnson can't seem to catch the puck. Lots of shots he should have controlled, but didn't.

Kessler is a ..... hate that guy more than any other player I think.

Oh man, I saw the 7 on the jersey and thought it was Kesler...

They didn't show the replay on the board at the game.

I was surpised that Bieksa and Tkachuk didn't have a go at the end of the game.

I can't believe that 3rd goal snuck by all that congestion in front of the net AND Johnson. Could've easily bounced anywhere else but in the net for the same price. That stunk.

Monahan had a brutal game all around tonight except for the faceoffs.

Gibson made a play so he didn't have to make a save. The flub comes from Chaison not shooting when he had Gibson down and out and tons of time. His forced pass back to Bennett mired the whole play.

This. I have noticed this continually this season and it's been driving me nuts! I don't know if it's lost confidence or what but shoot the damn puck! He's been killing plays trying desperately to not shoot the puck. Passing it right to opposing players instead of taking a shot when he has the chance.

He has certainly not been the same player we have been accustomed to seeing the last few seasons. Is this the result of Hamilton's presence in some way? Whatever it is...he needs to suck it up and get his act together.

Bennet has been disappointing

Johnson was meh.

But the most frustrating was brodie on the point. The guy is literally scared to just shoot. Get him off the first pp unit already. My guess is gio was sick tonight

Kesler, he's great at playing his game.

I wonder what this season would look like without Backlund. He's been the MVP. Theres been some other honorable mentions but he should be the guy the flames send to the ASG.

Still don't understand why Chiasson deserves all this PP time. I have more trust in Ferland out there in front of the net.

Brodie and Monahan were not good again. Not as good as they should be.

Overall pretty decent game from the Flames but more about w's than looking good right now.

I think when the coaching staff breaks this game down play by play they'll be happy. The Flames likely held advantage in offensive zone time and scoring chances while Johnson wasn't to blame at all. He is still far more confidence inspiring in my opinion. As far as the management wanting the team to "dictate play" I thought they were successful tonight. The Flames are building confidence and ability to "dictate play", but tonight the hockey gods served them another slice of humble pie. There's a special team brewing here.

I was also at the game, and I agree about the linesman. They seemed to hold onto the pick for a long time before dropping it.

I went to the game with my dad and brother in law, we sat 4 rows off the glass in the corner to the right of Johnson. Those were the best seats I've ever sat in, it's such a cool experience!! I never realized how fast the game was, man those players move quickly, and they are huge!! What a great experience!!

Chiasson has been one of, if not the best net front presence this team has had this year.
