Most tellingly, he selected as U.S. ambassador to Israel a right-wing fanatic who disdains the two-state solution and says Jewish supporters of the center-left think tank J Street are worse than the Jewish kapos who guarded concentration camps for the Nazis.

Don't worry, he's already thanking himself. And I thought he was closing in on OD'ing on his ego during the campaign. Apparently I ain't seen nothing yet.

At the request of Netanyahu, the city of Jerusalem has apparently cancelled the vote on approval of the new housing units. He may be meeting resistance in his own party.

AP does some investigative reporting on Eric Trump's charity, which seems even more shady than his dad's.
A charity operated by one of Donald Trump's sons flouts philanthropic standards by financially benefiting charities connected to the Trump family and members of the charity's board, an Associated Press investigation shows.
The AP found that Eric Trump has exaggerated the size of his foundation and the donations it receives. At the same time, the charity's payments for services or donations to other groups repeatedly went to one of Donald Trump's private golf clubs and to charities linked to the Trumps by corporate, family or philanthropic relationships.
...
Under IRS rules, a public charity collects money to serve a public mission. Any money passed along to other charities also needs to serve such a mission, without favor to those connected to the original charity's founder, board members, or relatives of its board. Charity boards are supposed to act as independent watchdogs. While the IRS generally gives charities leeway in the hope of encouraging public missions, a pattern of such behavior - even if the receiving charities do good work - could leave the impression that board members are trying to further personal agendas rather than public good.

Trump seriously needs a PR advisor he would actually listen to. He's a nut job, which is scary given that he'll soon be the most powerful person in the world. Taking on Obama like that is stupid, despite what Obama said. The classy thing for Trump to do would be to ignore it. Hey, I used Trump and classy in the same sentence.
Speaking of Obama and a bit off topic but what do folks think of Obama's performance as president? I know an American who thinks he's the devil or something.

You really think so? He seems to love Israel and will likely defend them no matter what illegal things they continue to do.

The second Netanyahu or another high profile Israeli suggests Trump has a small penis, they are his enemy and will be cut off the US military aid tit. And no, what I wrote there is not absurd or impossible or something out of a terrible reality show, it's the Trump administration. Now granted, the second he attempted that would be the second he's impeached and removed because you don't #### with AIPAC and live to tell about it (see Obama doing something now when AIPAC can't do anything to him), but he is crazy enough to start international incidents over personal insults. It's why world leaders are salivating at the chance to work him over.

Given the mess when he took over? I think he did alright at least domestically.
He was a little more hawkish than I thought he would be though.
I think he is one of those guys like Carter in that he will have a huge opportunity to make even bigger impacts as an ex-president. Not that I think Obama was a weak president as many would suggest Carter was, but just that he has genuine intentions to do good, but the office of president isn't necessarily the best platform to do it.

Yeah, Obama was an incredibly average President. Hard to complain about but not a lot to praise.
For a job like the President though? Average is perfectly fine.

Saying Obama was average is obviously deeply selling him short. I think in time he'll almost universally be viewed as better than Bill Clinton, who's often in the top 10-12 list of Presidents. He was, like Bill, more of a third way type President than a Bernie Sanders type of Democrat, but his economic record is terrific. In time his foreign policy will be very fondly remembered, especially when the Presidents before and after him will likely get the US deeper into the messes of the Middle East. So just by staying out, he'll get a bump down the road
I think for people who expected a progressive, liberal President they'll view Obama as mediocre or even a failure, which is comparing him to expectations and not to results compared to other POTUS. Because when you compare his overall legacy to most other POTUS, he did quite well. I think he ends up consistently in the top 15 Presidents in future lists, and it's hard to call a President in the upper third average. Sounds above average to me.
