That last PK alone is why you lock a guy like Backs up. Add to that his points in the game thus far, and yeah. This guys a keeper and you lock guys like him up for as long as you can. And then you slap a letter on him fast as you can.

Feel bad for Pickard having that one shot bounce off the end glass, off his back, and in. The other three, while they may have bounced in of Avs players, are entirely the result of poor coverage and positioning.

Shut up Doug Maclean. They weren't lucky goals IMO. They may have bounced in but they were almost all during really dominant shifts by the Flames in which they could easily have had goals at several times.

I will respectfully disagree. I still laugh about it, as that was one player assessment that was entirely incorrect and he defended it to his eventual demise. I say demise as he seems to have left some time ago. And he refused, REFUSED to admit Backs was the real deal.

Backlund reminded me a lot of Bouma from 2 years ago. Blocked a shot and looked like he got hit by a 12 gauge. Gets back up and almost instantly blocks nearly the same shot. Warriors. Backlund is a freaking warrior.
