I'll probably get lambasted for this but I would prefer never to see a picture of Hiller in a Flames jersey, let alone Christmas sweater, ever again.
As a goalie, I don't typically bash goalies but he was the worst goalie ever to play in Flames silks.
Ugh.

Wotherspoon is not really like Engelland at all. They are 'defensive defencemen', but Wotherspoon moves the puck more like a PMD, and has better mobility.

Also, no need to worry - we have seen a Wotherspoon-Engelland pairing. In fact, I think most of the guys that have gotten a look on the Flames have started alongside Engelland. Engelland makes for a steady defensive partner. Just because Smid and Engelland didn't mesh doesn't mean too much, IMO. Remember, Giordano and Hamilton didn't mesh at all last season, and together they looked absolutely atrocious. Could be the same thing with the Smid - Engelland pairing as well. Small sample sizes should not be made into rules.

That's harsh. As bad as his 2nd year was, you can't forget what he did for us in 14/15, and how great that season was. As a fan, that was the 2nd most rewarding season of the last 20 years.

And that's it. He only played those 2 with the Flames.

Actually now might be a good time to garner some confidence back with Elliott, not like Chad has been playing lights out last few games. Don't think we brought Elliott on to play a game or two a month. And yes he played like crap first month, then again so did mostly every other flames player, just sayin. smile it wont hurt. Elliott plays strong tonight, book it
