Correct. Unless prior to 1898 when the Boroughs amalgamated to form the city. Of course the Rangers and Islanders didn't exist in 1898.
What is this thread about again? The perfect name would have been Las Vegas Knights but I guess I don't hate Vegas Golden Knights.

It would be an awesome road trip to go down and cheer on the Flames play. Fairly easy to find return flight and 3 day hotel for around $300.

Golden Knights of Paradise has an interesting ring to it...
(I had actually been hoping they would be named the Desert Knights, so that their AHL affiliate in Utah could become the Deseret Knights...)

This hurts the NHL team, but what's going to pretty much kill it is when the NBA comes to town. And everything I read makes it seem like it's a given the NBA will be expanding, likely to two pacific time zone markets....like say Seattle and Las Vegas. So if nothing else the NHL has a head start, but if it's not a championship level team by the time the Raiders and NBA team are there, it's pretty much going to be a worse market than Phoenix.

Yeah, I had hoped the NHL would have at least a few years on it's own to build up hype and fan base as the only pro sport team in town. Now it looks like they won't get any spotlight time alone. There's 12000 Knights season ticket holders hearing the Raiders news and going "WOAHHHHHHH, we're getting the NFL!!".
And yeah, NBA will be the real killer with a direct competition for season time/length/facility. Except one sport is a familiar product embraced by Americans while the other has to fight for relevancy.
I mean, we all knew this was eventually coming I just figured maybe they'd drop the puck at centre ice once before the hype of one of the big three American sports took over, lol. May as well start with the biggest!
