Yeah I can't see Wotherspoon being much harm with 10 minutes of ice time. Maybe less. Pair him with Engelland see what you get.

People who don't like Wideman are always going to see what they want to. They'll focus on the negatives and ignore the positives. He's not worth his contract but he's a serviceable bottom pairing guy. He's been fine.

Flames should have cut ties with Wideman after the incident last year. It's no wonder we have 24 more minor penalties than the second most penalized team. The guy is a wart.

Jokipaaka's ceiling is Smid or maybe a Frank Musil type.

I'd love it if he became a Frank Musil

No he wasn't. #6 has shown improvement in some games but last night was not one of them. It was a poor showing.

Utter bull. And every single defenseman makes a goof like that every now and then, the only reason you've zeroed in on it is because he's unfairly targeted every ####ing game. If you'd take the blinders off you would see he has been a solid #4 the last handful of games. Nowhere near the crap factory he was last year. He's been out-performing Brodie pretty frequently. For the record I'm not saying that he should be on the team next year but to say he's been a liability is garbage.

Derek Wills says the defence will remain the same tonight. Jokipakka in, Wotherspoon out.

0 chance Elliott was going in tonight against the Sharkys.
Starting Johnson is win-win in that if he plays well and wins then he continues to roll in the starters crease. If he gets lit up (a real possibility) then we can go back to Elliott who might be able to build some confidence. A solid 1A/1B would be nice.

He bobbled the puck at the blue line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #### man, I didn't realize that, the guy must be total junk. I haven't seen any of our other blue liners, especially not Gio, Hamilton or Brodie do that multiple times this season at all. That never happens. Can't believed I missed it, wish I'd PVR'd the game, I'd go back and watch that, get my Wideman hate cranked to 11 (for Wideman it goes to 11) so I can be ready to verbally assault him via my television set tonight when he hits the ice.

If you've watched any of Calgary's games, you'd realize they deserve almost every one of those penalties. I don't think Engelland deserved his last night, but that had nothing to do with Wideman. Especially at the beginning of the year, Calgary was still getting used to Gulutzan's system, and the new defensive pairings. They made a lot of mistakes, and then had to make up for it with a penalty.

If the referees really are punishing the Flames for the Wideman thing then people should lose their job over it. If it were true it would be a very serious issue, maybe the biggest referee controversy in NHL history.
Flames fans are quickly getting back their reputation for being a bunch of whiners. I wish we would stop. It's embarrassing.

I didn't say every one. I said, almost every one. To point out one example, pretty much proves my point. Almost every one. And how many have the Flames gotten away with? Do you think the Flames are the only team to have penalties called against them where every single one wasn't 100% deserved? It's hockey. I don't agree with every penalty, but for the most part, they were deserved. These things even out. To blame refs, is childish, and it just isn't true. It's pretty much how the whole Vancouver fan base thinks. Brodie hasn't gotten a penalty in four games, so I have no idea which one you are talking about. I assume it's the one against the Jets, because 4 people complained about it in the GT.
In December the Flames have played 8 games. In 4 of those they've had more PP opportunities than their opponent. 2 of those games were even, and 2 of those games the opponent had 1 more PP opportunity than the Flames did. The Flames had 33 PP opportunities and 29 PKs.
To swear at me, because you don't agree with me, is also childish.
