Default Ethics of Cheese in Today's Economy

I have to buy an assortment of cheese this Christmas and besides dreading the thought of standing in a smelly place buying smelly things, I have an ethical bee in my bonnet. The person I'm buying for has only purchased from Janice Beaton and wants the same sort of thing in the same sort of box...a bunch of smelly lumps nestled together in fake hay like a smelly little manger of new born kings.

But Janice Beaton kind of sucks....

http://globalnews.ca/news/3028076/fo...ms-insolvency/

Sure it's only vacation and severance pay and some suppliers. And she's only "taking advantage of the rules available to all Americans". And she's paid for it personally to some extent. But it's dirty pool in my books to stiff your employees and then open the same business in the same place using the experience your employees helped create for you. She may get around to paying everyone back at some point. And frankly, if you try your best and fail at a business, I don't hold that against you. While employees shouldn't assume the risk of ownership, sometimes things happen. It's that she's opened up the same business in the same place. I dunno. Thoughts? I'm pretty sure one person's Bleu d'elizabeth is the same as the next one's.

Go to Scarpone's,Alberta Cheese Co or Even Springbank Cheese chances are all 3 of them will be more cost effective options.

Stealing the cheese from Janice Beaton seems to be the most ethical and cost effective option.

You could probably just cut some blocks of kraft cheese into artisan shapes.

Yeah, Cheese is a pretty terrible poster. His posts are downright unethical to read.

Cheese the food, or Cheese the CP member? Not sure of his ethics, but his morals seem to be in the right place.

You shouldnt exploit the nature of cows and the coagulation process of milk and the various bacterium involved for your own personal enjoyment.

I has a story.
Back when I was a young teen, my friend shoplifted what he thought was a cheese platter from a Hickory Farms?, I think, store, in a mall, and wrapped it up and gave it to his parents for xmas.
Turns out it was a display and the cheese bricks were actually made of wood, so they tried to return it, and he got busted.
lolz
anyways, I bought my parents a cheese thing from balderson cheese for xmas a couple of years ago that they liked. Then again, our family likes cheese, and olives, and pickles more than most families it seems.

Plot thickens. I heard from another Beaton that all Calgary Beatons are related somehow. Is Janice Beaton related to a former Calgary Police Chief Beaton?

That is a very specific ask. I'd get a block of marble from Costco and call it a day.

Don't buy it!

I have to buy gifts for teenagers and it doesn't matter if it's their birthday or Christmas, they always want something I don't want to pay for. Beats headphones, Kardashian-related merchandise, Starbucks cards...

I get them something else and don't have to support the Kardashians or Dr.Jay-Z or Starbucks and feel better about myself. They get something they don't want (another copy of The Catcher in the Rye) and they feel worse about me. It's a win-win situation!
