nice to see Elliott get a win even though he's still struggling.

Hathaway has supplanted Bouma as far as I'm concerned.

NHL.com says the 3 stars were Elliott Dvorak and Backlund.

I wonder what Bouma would fetch us at the trade deadline. Would be a good move to clear up some salary space.

The actual goals against were not pretty, but Elliott earned his 25/27 tonight with a lot of quality saves.

Crazy to think we scored 3 PPG in the arena in one night where the Coyotes had only allowed 3 PPGA in the season before the game.

Girly thanks to you and your pgt posts, I'm now under the impression that all South Korean women are quirky, cheerful supermodels.

If I ever actually go there I feel like I'm gonna be real disappointed.

Maybe a 3rd, or a b prospect?
I wouldn't count on much if he's traded.

Very true, Flames can't come out flat like that tomorrow, need to push play early.

I can't be the only person who's heart almost gave out after Goligoski hit Gaudreau. Looked clean to me. But reminded me of Kariya cutting thru the middle...scary hit but nice to see Johnny come back.

Same goes for Versteeg. Seems to get injured every game, but he brings such a dynamic skill set to the team. I thought he might be Setoguchi-like, but he's been a such a nice pickup and a versatile player since he came here.

I wonder if McGinn will receive supplementary discipline for his hit on Versteeg.

I wouldn't give up much for a guy who's hurt all the time. He'll ride out his contract with the Flames.

Be lucky to get a 3rd or a 4th.

I think they should go right back to Elliott tomorrow. The only way to get rolling is to play, and keep playing.

I thought he played pretty well when the Coyotes were actually shooting pucks at him. Those two brain farts don't happen to a guy who's playing regularly and feeling confident.

It was a pretty good result but a team really shouldn't need 3 powerplay goals to beat the 2016-17 Coyotes. The first 10 minutes might have been the worst ten minutes, effort-wise, of the season. It's good to see that someone was able to light a fire under the team for the 2nd and 3rd. Elliott was ok, and while he made some bad, bad mistakes, it's still a win, so hopefully he can build off of it.

Monahan was super casual for most of the game, and then he decides to run over Jooris for what looked like no reason. I'd like to know what got into him on that one. Douglas was fantastic again, the best d-man tonight imo. Ferland had some casual moments on the breakouts (which has been happening more than usual lately), but his line with Stajan and Hathaway pulled their weight.

The Flames took more big hits tonight than I think they have in any other game, which is concerning. Maybe they're a little out of it since they've been be playing so sparsely lately. Also, I can't recall any times that Gaudreau took as many hits as he did, especially the big ones (even if they were late). Usually he can see them coming from a mile away. It's probably not the easiest thing in the world to get up to play these Coyotes but a team with playoff aspirations needs to bring a better effort level than the Flames showed tonight imo.

Regardless, a win is a win. I'm looking forward to the Heat/Flames doubleheader tomorrow in San Jose. Should be a good pair of games.

I'd be shocked if he'd get that much. Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised if he'd clear waivers.

Gulutzan called the off-side challenge on Arizona's second goal "A long-shot" challenge.

So it looks like he wanted to use his time out anyways.

Hard to believe in Elliott when he lets in 2 softies like that but very good to see him get the win. Not sure who starts tomorrow. Johnson deserves the starters spot for getting the team back in the race even if his last 2 games were not the best. Having said that if Elliott could ever find his game the team will be in such a strong position moving forward and Elliott won't find his game unless he gets starts.

I guess what I am saying is I will get behind whatever decision Gulutzan makes tomorrow
