ANNNDD because Kodi can launch out of retropie too, you best add this (plus set up a trakt.tv account, real-debrid, and just use Exodus)

Literally takes 30 minutes to be up and running , you learn some stuff, and you get good controllers

And maybe I'll retry my retropie with my new M series Vizio which is supposed to be super low latency, I can kill it on Xbox on it...

To make it even easier for some people you can use an already made quad-boot NOOBS installer if you're thinking of making a pi2/3 with retropie, kodi, rasplex, and/or raspbian.

Played a few hours of Chrono trigger last night. So awesome!

Can anyone tell me what controllers might work well for both NES and SNES emulated games? USB wired. I do not want to invest much in something that may only be a hobby project, and my pi2 lacks Bluetooth.

This thread inspired me to setup RetroArch on my HTPC. Initial setup is a little daunting, but once you get the hang of it it's incredibly powerful

I opted for SNES controllers, obviously because they are not limited on SNES games and are easy enough to use for NES games. Some people prefer the wired Xbox controllers which are natively supported in it, but the button layout may be kind of wonky to get used to (although you can button map any way you want to)

I'm using my old xbox 360 controllers (I already had a wifi adapter for it as well), but the buffalo SNES Controller on amazon.ca gets good reviews.

I use the SNES controllers on my retro duo. Works well enough for the NES. Not as nostalgic but less calluses/blisters.

xbox 360 and one don't use bluetooth

The 360 controllers don't have BT, so a BT adapter wouldn't help you very much.

I've basically all but given up on finding one of these systems. Wasn't Nintendo coming out with a new console shortly? Along with a new Legend of Zelda? I figured if I buy that, I assume you could somehow get the old classic games on it?

The Wii and the Wii U have the Virtual console, (not sure if it will be the same for the Nintendo Switch, but seems likely) but to be honest it is pretty hit or miss. The Nintendo eco system is not friendly and either makes it a pain in the ass to transfer games you already purchased, or makes you re-buy.
