The Flames are going to lose another 20-30 games this season. Two in a row hurts, and definitely sets the team back, but they play a few times before christmas and hopefully they can get back into the swing of things. Chad Johnson was not good in either loss and he seems to have returned back to earth. That happens. Now it's Brian Elliott's turn to show that he can play at a good enough level to take back the starter's job. If not, then this season will closely mirror last year's iteration of the Flames.

Had a bantam tournament game to watch so now whipping thru the game on PVR (result got spoiled for me). Thoughts:
Johnson not as good as he can be.
Puck bouncing around again.
Monahan is back to being Monahan.
Flames weren't horrible, just not as good as the opponent. They didn't generate much but I thought generally they skated with Columbus. They played better than against Tampa. I figure the first period was close, the second they lost cleanly, and they were the better team in the third.
Columbus is just a good good team.

I think Johnny also has to go back to playing within the team, and not trying to be the team and take it all on his back. Bad play on his part led to the back breaker. This was a problem early in the year too. You can't do it all yourself, kid.
Well, that was a rough one to watch. Flames just couldn't seem to do anything right. Kinda felt like I was watching back at the first couple games of the season. Ah, well. Put it behind 'em and move on.
How could you not include season opener for Columbus?
Dancing Kevin lost 160 pounds!!!! He is like the epitome of a great metephor for how the blu jackets have turned thier club around over the last few years If you get what I mean.

Couldn't watch the game but just saw the highlights.
- Terrible plays by Monahan and Gaudreau on goals 2 and 4, but I guess that happens.
- I haven't been able to watch many games this season being on the east coast but has Wideman always been on the PK? Just doesn't seem smart to play him on the pk when he isn't quick, is soft in his own end, isn't overly physical in front of the net and doesn't sell out to block shots.
- Can't really blame Johnson on any of the goals but may be time to give him a night off, I'm going to the game Monday, lets hope Elliot gets his act together.
Man. Flames win and Sportsnet can't drop the game fast enough. Flames lose? We get to hear from everyone. The players, the coach, coaches grade school teacher, Harvey...
I lol'd.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way but it's a hell of a lot more fun around here when we win. We need to win more right?
I was watching this game at the bar and it wasn't fun at all.
