Rumors have been mounting over the last few days from Variety and The New York Post that Trump has, unsurprisingly, had a difficult time finding A-list talent to perform at the inauguration. Most of the entertainment industry vocally sided with Hillary Clinton during the election, and those that stayed silent don’t seem eager to tie their name to the new administration at this point.

A source told the Post that the transition team was hoping for talent on the level of “Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars,” but so far they’ve had talks with Brooks and fellow country artist Lee Greenwood.

A member of the Trump team said that Elton John was going to perform at the inauguration, but John denied it.

Motley Crue’s Vince Neil thought he was playing the inauguration, but he isn’t.

Other celebrities that backed Trump during the campaign include Ted Nugent, Kid Rock, and Jon Voight.

Flynn who was tapped by Trump to be national security advisor shared classified intel with foreign military. No action was taken it seems because their was missing intent.

That's horrendous. I just can't imagine anyone with an IQ higher than 60 actually sitting in a boardroom and being swayed by him. He talks like a jealous 8yr old that worships his older brother.

Some have speculated that Ivanka, one of the president-elect's daughters, will fill a role similar to first lady's during her father's presidency. The New York Times reported this month that she may be one of the most powerful first daughters in history.

In early December, she met with former Vice President Al Gore, a prominent climate change activist, at Trump Tower in New York City. The first daughter reportedly plans to make global warming one of her main issues.

Trump has said he'd "love" to have Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, involved in his administration.

I guess there's nothing saying the First Lady has to be the president's spouse is there? But if she does anything outside the general stuff a First Lady does doesn't that run contrary to the anti-nepotism laws? Not to mention her husband.
A writer on her way out of Politico had a ummmm, well...a response that I'm sure many people have thought at one point or another...

NSFW!

...I'll be looking forward to reading her in the Atlantic lol. But that alone would be one thing, but Politico it appears cares about currying favor with the Trump campaign since they are on the outs right now.

Is it trying to get on his good side or is it just not stooping to his level. It's not like it hasn't been said many times all over the place, but still I think that's too far.

Though she missed a golden opportunity, she should have just said 'Oh stop getting upset everyone it's just locker room talk.'

Outside of the irony the story appears to be that Flynn acted reasonably in trying to accomplish the missions he had although he did not follow the letter of the law. Interested in more detail but it seems as uninteresting as the clinton server.

It probably is. I made the point early in the Clinton thing that if D.C. is like every company in the world that has confidential information then if one were to look you will find mishandling of such information by pretty much everyone who handles such information. Forgotten file folders. E-mails. Conversations etc. it's why when this gets prosecuted it is very much based on intent. In the Clinton thing I saw all these comparisons to the navy guy who took pictures and why was he being charged and she wasn't!

Well he knew he wasn't supposed to do it, snuck his phone in, took the pictures, put the pictures on his computer and willingly and knowingly distributed them (only to his family it seems but it doesn't matter). He then destroyed the evidence as well. There was knowing intent to what he did. Clinton if classified went through doesn't seem to have any intent or even knowledge hence no prosecution.

I'm resigned to the fact that Trump won the election and will be president, but inaugurations have always been kind of cool events, but this one isn't really shaping up to be.

Not that Ted Nugent has been cool since the 70's* but it'd be kind of awkward to have him there since he did once say "Obama, he's a piece of ####. I told him to suck on my machine gun" and suggest that Hilary should "ride" that same (I assume) machine gun.

I wonder if even the conservative celebs and artists are seeing this for what it is—buying a ticket on the Titanic when you know what's going to happen.

*was Ted Nugent ever cool? I'm a geezer myself, and the coolest thing I know him for is being on Wooderson's (Matthew McConaughey) t-shirt when he said that thing about high school girls in Dazed & Confused.

Whenever I hear his speeches or interviews, I think he is extremely stupid, but when I actually read them, I am convinced he is borderline ######ed.

I used to think he was back when I was skipping highschool and playing pool in my friends basement, listening to double live gonzos, and, Yes, Rush, Boston, Queen etc. Now I know he's a dick.

But,,,,, "stranglehold", can usually get me up for anything. Cage fighting, golf, bank robbing, whatever, it gets my testosterone jacked up.

I have read and re-read that statement quite a few times and in a meeting with some of the most powerful people in business, he talks to them like he is talking to a crowd of hillbillies and yokels. The guy panders to his audience of idiots, but I have a hard time believing that there is anyone with a modicum of self-respect who can listen to such ramblings and come away with anything other than the man in the most powerful office is anything but a shill who has swindled his way into a position of power. The guy just isn't smart - his bankruptcies and business history are evidence of this, his campaigning has been one blunder after another and somehow he has been able to benefit from the lackluster American education system to fool enough gullible idiots into thinking he will make their lives better.

Man what's going on in North Carolina is kinda sad. Republicans called an extraordinary session to introduce a whole bunch of new bills. Extraordinary sessions are usually to respond to natural disasters and emergencies. I guess this emergency is that a Democrat won the governorship, since the bills are all designed to reduce the amount of authority and resources the governor has.
