d00d .... its TV, clearly they have a quicker learning curve.

seriously though, i thought his english all of a sudden got better when he was talking to Petrelli. if he could talk that well, why couldnt he say something in broken english to the artist?

ah well, tv.

Loved this episode. They are really flowing along nicely. The flying was cool and the younger brother is confirmed to be able to take other's powers. Good episode.

Anyone who can't learn English in a day obviously does not have the potential to be a super Hiro

Seriously though, I think he did speak a little before didn't he? When he teleported himself into the future (when he found out the world was going to end), he spoke some English to the cops, did he not? But at the same time, if he could speak English why was he leaving Japanese messages for the comic book author....

thats just it. One day, he can't speak a word (leaving japanese messages to the painter) then he comes from the future and speaks perfect english (ok, so now you assume he has learnt it somewhere along the way)

But last nights episode, it comes out of the blue. I'm sure they don't have much in the way of methods to illustrate that he learnt english in a specific manner, and he has to learn sometime for the sake of the show, but just a little continuity issue.

But, yeah, if he can teleport and bend the time and space continuum, then he could probably learn some english at a quick pace, but the show makes no effort to explain it... thats all.

What we needed was a musical montage of Hiro learning to speak English. Working with his buddy there, cracking open the books, and what not - all set to the song "You're the Best." from "Karate Kid".

Maybe not.

You got to reach your prime.
That’s when you need to put yourself to the test,

Were going to need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Sure a lot of things happening at once,
Remind everyone what’s going on (what’s going on?)
And when ever you show a little improvement
Just Show it or it will take too long
that’s called a montage (montage)
Oh we want montage (montage)

And anything that we want to know, from just a beginner to a pro,
You want a montage (montage)

Always fade out in a montage,
If you fade out, it seems like more time
Has passed in a montage,
Montage

Well do they need to draw out the first 20 some years of his life where he picks up the odd bit of English and studies it in school? Many foreign people understand English, but don't know how to speak it or would prefer not to if they don't have to. Often they watch T.V. or movies with subtitles. As a result they learn what the language sounds like, but have no idea how to read, write or speak it.

I met several people from Brazil who couldn't speak in English, but understood what I was saying if I spoke English to them. I've also met a lot of people who know languages but won't speak them unless they absolutely have to. Really the English bit he did is the least far fetched thing in the entire show.

No, I know its not a big deal, its just 1 episode, he couldn't speak a word of english, and the next he can. Its just weird, thats all.

And a guy shooting up on heroin to see the future, a guy able to travel through time, and some guy who can read everyone else's thoughts aren't weird?

This show just keeps getting better all the time. I love how Nathan can fly so well. He must have known about his powers for some time and has been working on using them.
Also I am stuck if Clair's dad is a good guy that will bring them all together and lead them or if he is going to be the leader of the villans.

How long does it take to load the episode on NBC? I've had it open for 5 minutes and it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all.

not so sure how i feel about the taking the powers power.... i hope it doesnt culminate in some confronting of bad guy w/ absorption of all people's powers at once scene....

the episode in general was fantastic though...

I thought the language explained things pretty well. Hiro from the future has obviously spent a lot of time there, perhaps planning/training to go back in time to save New York.... ala Janeway

Oh man. I finally got around to watching the episodes I had on the PVR.

What a show. Wow. I hear your agony in waiting till next week to find out what happens next. It's been a very long time since I watched a TV series this closely. Great suspense, great cast!

Does Mohinder have powers? Or is just knowledgeable about the powers? I agree that neighbor chick will turn out to be evil or something. Too convienient.

Ali Larter....wow..

I dont think it will allow you to watch it from Canada. BSG is the same way on SciFi and they are one in the same company.

Mask your IP to a US ISP - you should then be able to watch it - just be careful, technically that is illegal.
