No. Jesus was on the top of the truck when Darryl confronted Negan, when they pulled away he was gone. It could very easily be Jesus.

Yeah, why would Dwight want to save Darryl? Unless he thought he could help bring down Negan?

Darryl is going to escape and Negan is going to come back with Judith and Coral. He will be pissed. Darryl will then convince Rick to save Judith and Coral(which shouldn't be to hard). Commence ####show.

Couldn't it also be Sherry? Her and Darryl's eyes crossed at the hot iron ceremony.

Dwight's wife may have also pushed him into doing something finally, with her passive aggressive "Exactly" comment. Women.

Maybe it's a hint to use the smoking stairwell to make his escape.

Don't think Daryl could possibly know about or where that staircase is. Whoever it was was wearing boots from the sounds of things. Could be Dwight but kinda doubt it at this point. It has to be Jesus. He would have heard Negan tell Dwight to lock up Daryl and followed him back.

Seems to me they are positioning Darryl as a guy who is at his heart - good. We know he tried to get away. We know they made a deal with Negan to save D's life. And there have been enough subtle shows of humanity to suggest an old school rasslin' face turn at some point.

I think some part of the might be that they know Darryl is smart enough to be able to take on Negan and some of the other guys, like "Trevor". So, I guess from that aspect I can see him cultivating Darryl as an ally. I don't Dwight is going to suddenly turn good though. I think he just hates really hates Negan a lot.

Great episode, but all I could think while watching all their faces at the end was "They're all gonna die". Ok, maybe not all, but like 90% of them.
It's gonna be ugly. Like really ugly. It might get better after that, but it's gonna be a bloodbath.
Spoiler only because I probably watched it before others.

A couple questions
What were the figurines that Darryl glared at and then knocked over?
Was the match used or explained?

A couple more thoughts
I found it surprising they chose to not show the reunion between Maggie and Darryl given what happened.
I like the idea that after breaking Rick, Negan's biggest mistake was then pushing too far to give Rick and the group no choice but to fight

I would say that as soon as it looked like Spencer was going to cozy up to Negan, that Spencer's days were numbered. When he started bad-mouthing Rick though, and Negan called him out to the fact that Rick was out there getting stuff for him while Spencer wasn't, that his time was up that day.
I hate those 5 minute long, almost slow-motion re-union sequences they put in shows. The last part of that episode was excruciatingly saccharine to watch.

The figurine looked like a carving of Hilltop, but I could be wrong. Not sure the significance of that moment.
I think the match was to indicate where Daryl could escape. There was a matchbook propping a door open and that's how he got outside.

A good episode, but I expected there to be a cliffhanger.
The episode was setting up the next half of season, where Alexandria/Hilltop/The Kingdom get together to fight.
I wonder if we see the owner of the black jungle boot in the second half. I suspect the items on the house boat were poisoned.

Not sure about this but.... while sort of watching some old episodes over the weekend, there was the one where Daryl was with scarface? Dwight? and the 2 girls in the woods, a long time ago, and scarface had a little wooden figurine, and said his grandfather taught him to whittle.

couple more q's...what was the post-credits scene, as my PVR did the usual cutting after 3 seconds of it?
and how did Jesus get back to the Sanctuary to meet Daryl, I thought we last saw him on the roof of the truck with Negan and Coral going to Alexandria? I guess that's where he's got his name...miracles.

They showed him on the roof, then after Darryl got sent to solitary it showed the top of the truck again and he wasn't on it.
