Might it be that they wanted to fight the people responsible for the atrocities committed on September 11, but then found their country in a far more costly war that was completely unrelated? Might it be that the very consititution they swore to defend has been violated by their Commander-in-Chief and his administration?

I'm pretty sure they signed up to be soldiers in defense of freedom and democracy, not agents of a regime that tortures suspects in secret prisons. I don't think their government's suspension of habaes corpus was something they had in mind when they enlisted.

I knw what you mean. Its tough when the horse you've been riding comes up some lame. The fact that you have to sit there and read all the stuff that you were so sure wasn't true, unfolding infront of your eyes. It must be really hard to take.

Yet you're a big supporter and view of FauxNews. Wow.

You know, I was actually cutting you a lot of slack and just repeating what you had said in the past. I respect the fact that you spend so much time with your kids and make them your priority. Good on you. That usually means (and you've admitted it yourself) that you don't have the time nor energy to do the proper research. That is an honest out and I was giving it to you. But if you think its a slight, oh well, your problem, not mine. I think your an intelligent fellow that is like so many and wrappe up in their own lives and having little time or interest in the events that shape our society. Everyone has priorities and pursuits to chose from and expend their energies.
I don't have time to seek out every study that fits my theory, nor the time to find every study that goes counter.

I'll give you that.

But that's a far cry from not paying attention to what's going on and having my head in the sand.

I honestly wasn't trying to be a drama queen ... Hitler and Nazi comments just seem so over the top to me I can't stand it. These topics should be in debate without the over the top terminology that just polarized things to the point of paralysis. You'll notice I don't choose words like communist, or bleeding heart, or socialist when I disagree with something from the left because all it ever does is inflame. No fun in that.

This from a guy who takes a DR of philosophy version of what happened on 9/11 - yet entirely dismisses the bibliography of the Popular mechanics book on debunking 9/11 myths. They had experts from every discipline explain what happened. Lanny prefers to choose a Philosophy professor and then has the gonads to claim that because we don't believe him it's because we haven't done our research.

Always kills me when someone responds to someone, essentially getting the last word and telling the other they need to have it. Great little tactic to actually get the last word while daring the other guy to defy your line in the sand and take it themselves.

I don't recall you jumping in all that much when I was yanked around for three weeks or so a while back.

I can't say I disagree with anything Tillman says here. The horrible horrible part is that it was all perfectly clear it was going to occur three years ago. The nightmare scenerio has unfolded exactly as a worst case scenerio.

There were no WMD's, and no connection to 9/11.

Afghanistan is now a backwater falling into herion production and will return to the warlords as soon as the western powers leave. The opportunity to save a failed state was wasted because Bush wanted to spin 9/11 into an excuse for taking out Saddam.

There was no exit strategy for Iraq, and it has become the Vietnam replay we all feared.

Iran and North Korea were ignored and now have nuclear weapons thanks to the staunch US ally Pakistan.

As to the future?

The US will eventually cut their losses and leave Iraq. Iran will immediately begin attempting to convert segments of Iraq to an islamic state (don't forget Iraq was secular under Saddam - not a good place by any means, but not a religous fanatic either).

Civil war will ensue between Shi-ites (profanity filter activates when I spell it correctly) and Sunnis as various entites declare autonomy.

Just wait a few years till the Kurds declare independance and Turkey invades northern Iraq (Kurdistan). You'll just love it.

if there was any evidence at all that iran had a nuclear program whatsoever, israel would long ago have struck.

iran complies with the IAEA inspections IN FULL.

the current dispute is over iran's dumping of a VOLUNTARY framework in which it pledged to not enrich uranium if it had support from others to do so.

said, PROMISED support never materialized, so they went ahead and did it themselves.

why isn't brazil in trouble? they are at exactly the same stage.

the reason iran is brazen and makes bold statements is because they are constantly threatened by the western leaders, and they are being told what to do.

go tell a bunch of religious nuts what they can and can't do, and flatly refuse to negotiate with them one-on-one.

oh, uh, depose their government once in a while, and shoot down civilian airliners here and there to let them know you mean business. also, invade countries to their east and west for oil interests.

that'll work, they'll back down right away!

this is a total load, all of it.

Why can't you answer the question, or at least tell me what you THINK is wrong with me?

come on, White Doors. you know how this works.

you say that iran shouldn't have nukes, and if anyone disagrees with you on anything else, that logically means they think that iran should have nukes.

i've seen your act so many times i'm totally sick of it.

i think i hear your mom calling.

Folks, if you can't find a way to debate your points in a mature manner, take it elsewhere.
