Well with the freezing temperatures my patio window in my apartment is sweating quite a bit. Anyone on CP have any tips on alleviating the condensation? Never ran into this last year since it was such a mild winter.

I was reading online to have my window open for a bit but I'd rather not go that route unless its required.

Yeah either a fan to move the air and evaporate the condensation, a towel at the bottom to absorb the condensation before it soaks into the trim or drywall or floor or something else where it can cause damage, or reduce the humidity somehow.

Or if you're ok with not using the patio door at all for the winter, something like this:

Basically a plastic cover, separates the air next to the window from the air in the rest of the place.

Once you get into -20 territory most windows will have freezing condensation. I'd just keep an eye on it and dry it when you can to avoid pooling or damage to the frame/sill.

Depends what you mean by sweating quite a bit, if you just have a band of condensation around the bottom of the glass it really isn't a huge issue and is pretty normal at this temperature.

Its substantial amount, more then what I've experienced before haha. Like about a shot glass full of water in the metal trench over night.

I just put a towel down along the base to soak up the water.

We really only get a couple weeks of year of weather this cold, so that is always enough to protect the floor/wood frame.
