Looks like Johnny and (by causation) Monahan are waking up. If Calgary wins tonight they're only 2 points back of the oilers with 1 more game played. Sad to think this team has pissed away at least 5 points in the final 2-3 minutes of games this season.

Calgary is on fire (no pun) right now. Back in the race. I think the only two teams who are done are the Coyotes and Avalanche.

Chad Johnson is reminding me of what Dwayne Roloson did for the Oilers. Career backup, bounced around the league, finds a home on a mediocre team and becomes a starter. He has the ability to not steal just one point but both points just about every time he starts. Aside from the 8-3 anamoly against the Ducks, they're winning alot of low scoring 1 goal games because of him.


Barring any injury to him, Calgary is suddenly a threat for a playoff spot in my opinion.

Yeah, hopefully its just a hot streak and his play falls off. They've closed the gap on us by 5 points over the past month, something that could have easily been prevented without all of our late game collapses. Hopefully that trend doesn't continue otherwise the Oilers will be out of a playoff spot by the start of January.

I'm happy to be watching again, as I went on a self-imposed hiatus after the loss to the Rangers on November 12th. Said I wouldn't watch again till they fire the coach or are back above .500.

Pretty weak schedule for the Flames to end the year. 10 games left, 6 at home. The only playoff team they play on the road is San Jose.

They get to play the bottom feeders of the West:
Arizona x 3
Vancouver
Colorado

Winnipeg is a 0.500 team but has played poorly away.
Tampa is outside of the playoffs
The Flames slaughtered the Ducks last time they met at the Dome.

Columbus is the biggest threat.
