Embellishment is getting out of hand in this league. I dislike McDavid as much as the next guy, but that was a weak call. McCabe knew he was coming, and he lept into the boards after McDavid pushed him. I watched it in slow-mo about half a dozen times.

We're seeing that too often with d-men now. They're turning their backs to the forechecker, and leaping into the boards when they're pushed from behind.

If you watch this McDavid hit on McCabe, you see that McDavid hadn't even taken a stride in the 30ft leading up to McCabe, nor did he accelerate through the hit. There's no reason for McCabe to have gone flying like that.
