They should let him take his plane once, and make sure he is going somewhere where a head of state rolls up in their 747 (Japan for instance) or even Russia with their IL-96. The mere sight of his "small" 757 next to them will have him changing his mind right away I bet...

Haha, that'd do it.

Or just make the new 747's shiny gold on the outside.

Read yesterday that Bob Dole had been the one to arrange Trump's phone call with Taiwan, which seemed kind of random.

Dole is special counsel to Alston & Bird (http://www.alston.com/professionals/senator-bob-dole/).

Taiwan pays Alston & Bird a $20,000 a month retainer to lobby in Washington on behalf of Taiwan's interests.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/meghara/bob...obby-for-taiwa

Which isn't really unusual or newsworthy if it weren't for Trump's anti-lobbyist rhetoric.

They should modify a F-117A for Trump. He'll arrive at international meetings like a certified bad ass. I'm surprised he hasn't requested this already.

Zero chance he makes it through a flight on a fighter without having a heart attack. I'm actually doubting he makes it through his first term period.

I would be tempted to argue this point. The Secret Service likely has a pretty persuasive argument they can make to Trump that will have him change his mind. There is less than 0% chance he travels on his own plane once he is sworn in. He may be President but I don't think he has the final say on this one.

I heard the same thing about Obama as folks thought he'd be assassinated by some racist. Trump will be fine.

I disagree. For instance, do you think living in a skyscraper in downtown NY is the most manageable place for the secret service to protect him? Logistically, I doubt he could make it harder on them and no doubt they have offered better alternatives. He doesn't GAF.

Of course he has final say how he travels. It likely hasn't been an issue because every other president has been a reasonable person. Trump is unreasonable. He'll do what he wants and they'll let him because there's no other alternative. I mean, surely you don't think they'll pick him up by his arms and legs and carry him onto Airforce One if he doesn't want to get on. That's ridiculous.

The only way he'll get on Airforce One is if he wants to.

Trump is an old man without a previous history of medical issues.

The job of president is extremely stressful.

I agree with Nik. I don't think someone is going to assassinate him, but I think it's likely for him to have health problems during his term.

Most presidents are old. Most presidents aren't old, 270 pounds and regularly feast on KFC.

Every time I eat KFC I have to hit the can with major stomach pains.

But it's often delicious.

I too like making massive geopolitical decisions while the KFC is causing my ass to blowout like a damaged wellhead.

Reagon made it to 77, nearly 78.

At 70, Trump would need to win the second term to reach past that.

Pretty sure Reagan was a marionette stuffed with straw and hay for most of his second term. Not a ringing endorsement.

Normally the job of president is stressful. But for a guy who doesn't actually care that much, doesn't really care to do the work and will instead sit around watching SNL and tweeting how stressful will it be really?

I expect he will show up to do some hand shaking and a state of the union every year and that's about it.
