A win tonight can really put us in a good spot in the standings.

Currently 2 points up on Dallas, but they have 2 games in hand. A win will have us jump over them in points percentage which is key with the extra games played we have.

@Fan960Wills: Micheal Ferland, who left Sunday's game following a 1st period fight with Kevin Bieksa, is on the ice for #Flames morning skate. #CGYvsDAL

Four-point game against another likely-to-be wildcard team.

A win tonight would be huge. Let's go boys!

This is a important game. If our offence can transfer over to this game we could be looking good. Their weak d and goaltending has really struggled this season. Gunna miss this one. Damn wife's Christmas party.

I like those lines. This team is really starting to come together and it would be great to see some consistency from them.

You sound like you have a cold coming on. Wouldn't want to spread that to her co-workers.

Maybe its just me but I would love to see these lines which would put a RH shot on every line:

Tkachuk-Monahan-Versteeg
Gaudreau-Bennett-Brouwer
Chiasson-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan-Hathaway

No matter how they all line up it makes you wonder how they fit Bouma in. I've really liked Hathaway's game but he is likely the only player that could be swapped given how well everyone is playing.

Just say no to breaking up Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik

I'm still entirely underwhelmed by Chiasson. Not so much disappointed as he's played as expected (maybe even better) but that he is being used more than he should. He would be the other player I'd be OK with sitting.

That said, like you, I'd prefer they don't.

I know its not ideal to break up a trio that works so well together but when Ferland didn't come back to the game the other night Tkachuk played with Versteeg and Monahan on occasion and they looked quite good.

They other side of it is Backlund and Frolik have such good chemistry that everyone that has slotted in with them has succeeded.

I'm fine with leaving things as is but just the thought of the top 6 of, Tkachuk-Monahan-Versteeg and Gaudreau-Bennett-Brouwer, is quite intriguing.

Nobody giving Chiasson any credit still (not singling you out, just noticing a trend).

His plus/minus is ranked 7th on the team. Flawed stat I know, but if you compare it to teammates it does represent something worthwhile.

He has 5 goals, 1 of them being short-handed, and 1 of them being a game winning goal.

He has 10 points on the year in 28 games, ranking him 9th on the team. That rate extrapolates out to around 30 points on the year, which is what you would expect of a 3rd line winger.

He had all of 14 points last year in Ottawa.

He's been better than I expected. He's not a highly skilled player, but he does a lot of little things right, forechecks well, and helps to get the puck to our skilled guys. Anything else he does on top of that is gravy.

Really want to see a win tonight. When the Flames fell five games below .500 you could feel the axe falling on the playoff hopes. It's remarkable that they have made up the ground so quickly; it would be a shame to slide again, especially against a team that should be beatable.

Flames win 18-2, Brodie is on the ice for all of the goals, and comes out with his +/- restored to 0. (seriously, why is he -16?)

Go Flames Go!

Because he's played really bad most of the year and was adjusting to playing the left side.

He has played pretty good in the last 3-5 games and his skating looks much better than it did in the beginning of the season.
