Anything Ezra touches turns weird, inappropriate and uncomfortable. What a buffoon.

I like how he's crowdfunding to make a "real" news organization, which sounds exactly what Sun News Network was. Hey, this thing we had totally didn't work! Give us money so we can do it again!

Lovely. Those people need their 'right to vote' revoked.

Watching awful internet memes crawl out of the digital world and into real life is fascinating. And horrifying. Dystopia come to life.

Any time you start to consider that mandatory voting by law would be a good idea, think of people like these.

Ezra Levant is a dangerous element in our society.

Come by the slaughterhouse in Brooks to collect.

Not to mention, it would be a crime to rob people of their right to not vote and then complain endlessly about the results of an election.

Everyone has a right to vote no matter what their view, there's no earned franchise, its basically given.

To change that would be extremely dangerous and pretty un-democratic. If the government is suddenly allowed to decide who gets a vote and who doesn't based on their personal viewpoints, we have something that's far more dangerous then the old one ballet voting system in the Soviet Union.

As far as this rally, its a bunch of angry people shouting at clouds. The more effect chant would have been "Step down". But instead they went with the popular Trumpism.

They basically at that point kicked the chair legs out of their own protest.

It seems like in Western Democracies, that protests are the Bastien of the radical viewpoint. the moderates choose to stay at home in case trouble breaks out.

Both extremes, just the opposite ends of the spectrum, but you condemn only one? Meanwhile nobody questions May or others for openly saying they are actually going to break the law. Double standard, that's all.

He is a complete and utter nut case, IMO.

Or, you know, on Calgarypuck for that matter?

Although I'm not really opposed to people conducting non-violent illegal civil disobedience, provided they don't destroy any property or hurt anyone. If people feel strongly enough that they're willing to go to jail for their beliefs, I think I'm generally on board, because sometimes just holding up signs and chanting doesn't really do anything to get eyes on your issue. "Fifty protesters jailed" tends to get attention.

I'm less sure what I think about a sitting MP doing it; that seems like the sort of thing that should cost you your seat. And obviously I think the cause in this case is a stupid one, but that's just me.

I think there are crazies all over. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, it seems that those that scream the loudest are heard and can be misinterpreted as a voice of the majority.

Do you think we all have the same facebook feeds? I went to University Hill Secondary FFS, on my facebook, May has Joan of Arc status.
Even her stating she was willing to break the law and facilitate lawlessness, she should be hauled up on the carpet for it in the House. Brian Mason got his panties in a bunch over a few people chanting something, but doesn't say squat about the open suggestion of violence from BC groups.

I don't think Levant is a nut case. I think he has always intentionally created a following by posting contrarian views. I would put him as solidly right wing but not a nut bar.

He definitely recruits the nut bars

I think he's worse... he's someone who enables, enflames, normalizes, and seeks to profit off the nut bars. He's also a rude jackass (or at least fronts as one on TV).

The spokespeople of the radical left tend to be true believers. As you point out, the ones on the right, like Levant, are opportunistic demagogues. For Levant, it's all about the Levant brand. I doubt he believes much of what he says.

Levant is not a nutbar, but he caters to and profits off of them.

To me that's worse. Its one thing to be a bit out there and have these strong opinions and no filter. Its a whole other issue when you know better and make inflammatory comments strictly to file up a radical element.

It is, but its an important distinction to make in how you address them. Essentially you shouldn't engage them because there is no way to change their opinion.
