They seem to beat the good teams and no show when they play crappy teams as of late - the Jets notwithstanding

It's reached the "meh" level on the meter. Still hate them, hate their fans, but just don't care if the win or lose because we all know they'll finish close enough to the bottom they'll be irrelevant no matter what

You know the overall quality of Hockey has gotten bad when the Oilers can win regularly.

Barkov scores his 1st goal in 22 games on a breakaway in OT to lift the Panthers over the Red Wings on the road. It was his 7th shot on goal of the night. Barkov still had 9 assists in his last 11 games, but couldn't find the back of the net during a game despite getting plenty of shots on goal.

Dallas might be a hipster 30 OA pick this year
The Penguins were probably pissed from the night before where they were messing around and the Islanders beat them.

Miller lets a stinker through the legs and the Ducks go on to win 3-1 over the Canucks. Garrett can go cry to bed now. The Flyers were down 2-0 and came back to win 3-2 in OT, Giroux with the GWG. The Bhawks win 4-3 also in OT, Hossa with the GWG.

You are still really worried about being on an endless treadmill? The organization has been on an endless treadmill since they were the Atlanta Thrashers. It has to be at the point of hopeless now. I look at that roster and simply can't understand why they are as bad as they have been the last two seasons. First thing they need to do is fire Mr. Mediocrity and get a better head coach and then hope that some of these players can start playing a better team game. As we are seeing in Calgary it's a big adjustment trying to get a bunch of freelancers playing a defensively responsible game.

In regards to the game last night I couldn't help but be a little jealous of the Oilers having a fully functional powerplay given how poor special teams have been in Calgary for the past few seasons.

Oh come on now. You know full well this team was not supposed to make the playoffs this year.

Seeing some strong performances at the start of the year raised the expectation too high.

Using youth in net is a long term strategy and yes it will cost us today.

This team is still going in the right direction.

Must have missed the last 6 games when they went 0/22 or something...

Good as any place to put this...

I feel better about the Flames OTL to the Islanders, now having seen them beat Pittsburgh & Washington back to back.

I haven't watched Winnipeg lately but just considering how young the Ehlers-Scheifele-Laine line is, it's going to be a season of highs followed by periods of adjustment.

As soon as they started scoring a lot, every opponent's game plan started to center around shutting them down, and it's a learning experience to adjust to that. Especially for Laine who is such a raw talent, it's one step at a time through the whole season, not just the initial adjustment to the NHL game.

I'm just a Laine fan since last season, never cared about the Jets, but it seems to me that the fans should be pretty optimistic about their lineup. Never get tired of watching Laine highlights.

The comment was more to how their powerplay was very good last night.

I didn't expect them to make the playoffs either, but, they did run into the 2nd most man games lost to injuries so far in the league and the worst schedule by a mile. I think I read somewhere the Jets had 1 or no practices in November due to the ridiculous scheduling and travel.

The Jets are still within striking distance of making the playoffs if they can prevent anymore extended losing streaks, and hopefully with their scheduling easing up and the injuries getting better we can get close.

I think the issue is the quality of forwards and D drops dramatically after the top half. This is something we can blame on injuries I guess, but Chevy has to wear that too.
